The people of Kufa always faced problems. They were cut off from the ummah for voice their support for Ahlul Bayt. Later they became Rawafids and were isolated even further. It wasn't until the time of Buyids dynasty that the 12er Shias got any sense of freedom. When I read the Quran, I see the 12er Shia repeating the history of bani Israel in terms of being oppressed.

For Imam Hussain (as) both Sunnis and 12er Shia blame each other for what happened. However, I want you to look beyond that matter.

It was the Muslims who killed Hussain. It was the Muslim army on the orders of the Islamic Caliphate. He refused to swear allegiance to the Caliph of the time and refused to accept the Caliphate. We can beat around the bush as much as we like. But that's the truth.
