Assalam u Alaikum,

Can anyone shed light on the authenticity of the hadith stating to fast on 9th & 10th Muharram? What did Muhaditheen say on validity of hadith?

Tough one akhi. I haven't studied this topic. I think the hadith says that the Prophet said he wanted to fast the ninth. However, most scholars seem to have interpreted his meaning to be the ninth and tenth.

Can you share the actual narration, akhi?
