Is there any info on any hadith narrated by Imam Shafi in any hadith collection?
-
Yes, he is in most Hadith books. There is even a collection of his narration. Look up Musnad Al Imam Al Shafi'ee.
-
He narrates a LOT of Ahadith in many books.
-
Did Imam Abu Hanifah narrate any Ahadith?
-
There are even scholars alive today who narrate Ahadith all the way back to the Prophet (peace be upon him). So of course Imam Al-Shafi'i, Imam Al-Sadiq, Imam Abu Hanifah etc. all narrated hadith.
-
I understand that bukhari didn't narrate from Al Shafi nor Jafar Sadiq nor Abu Hanifa in his sahih.
Did he narrate from the first two in any of his other works? Also does anyone how many hadiths are related by the above Imams in the major hadith works (surely there must be a list somewhere)?
Btw there is no polemical nature to this enquiry, hence why it's in the general discussion forum:)

My question was pertaining did Imam Abu Hanifah (RA) ever collect narrations like Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (RA) did.
-
@ Zaid: I don't recall narrations by Al Shafi'ee except for a disconnected narration in his Saheeh. You will find narrations by Ja'afar in Khalq Af'aal Al Ibaad and Al Tareekh Al Kabeer.
No idea how many narrations of Imams in major hadith works.
@ Imam Ali: Everyone collected narrations to some extent. On the same scale though? Not even close.

Jazakhallah khairan for the replies.
Excellent site btw, its already been of much benefit to me:)

I don't think Bukhari and Imam Ahmad's son liked Abu Hanifa.
As for Imam Jafar here are the number of narrations in the Kutub As Sittah collection.
Sahih Muslim: 14 Sunan Abi Da'ud: 5 Jami' al-Tirmidhi: 22 Sunan an-Nasa'i: 44 Sunan Ibn Majah: 18

I haven't actually seen any example of Imam Al Shafi being in narrations whether in the 6/7 famous books or other famous books. Any examples?
