It's a Fiqhi issue bro, i'll take a quick browse see what you wrote.


All I know is that in Maliki Fiqh they said that prostrating on rugs is disliked because it is a sign of arrogance and because the Prophet (saw) ordered us to humble ourselves in front of God and we should not dislike our foreheads to be in contact with the soil and dirt for Allah's sake.


Shia do it for a very different reason.
