Two things to know about this Shaykh Nimr fellow,

#1 He's not a scholar, barely known in Shia scholarly circles. (Check his website, he has no contribution to Islamic sciences)

#2 He thinks Bachar al-Asad is a tyrannical oppressor and he believes that anyone who helps Bachar is a sinner. Therefore, those mourning his passing should think twice about what he thinks of them.

^ His stance on Bashar supposedly shows his objectivity. BUT let us not forget that Bashar is an Alawite, and thus, a kaffir in Shia theology.

Salam Alaykum,

Allahu A'lam, but this issue could have been shut down by both sides. KSA could have simply said that Al-Nimr is also against Iran's man Bashar al-Assad so we will let him rant whatever he wants. But Iran could also have played down the matter after his execution, saying that the man who badmouths our man Bashar deserves no sympathy from us, even if he is a coreligionist.

Seems both sides are itching for a reason to up the scales.

I'm happy for Sudan. Iranian propaganda machine will continue to blame everything on Saudi, that's a large part of what got us here in the first place, for example:

[[Iran also accused Saudi Arabia of bombing its embassy in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, but reports said there was no visible sign of damage.

"This deliberate action by Saudi Arabia is a violation of all international conventions that protect diplomatic missions," Hossein Jaber Ansari, a foreign ministry spokesman, was quoted as saying by state television.]]

How could they have targeted it with missiles if there's no signs of damage? Usually it's the Iranian BS machine and idiots believe it since they view Iran as an honest one. Iran in fact has been blaming literally everything on Saudi, that's their unfortunate foreign policy.

Iran wishes to use the lame strategy that "Well we attacked your embassy in Tehran and in Iraq, but you also ruined our embassy in Yemen."

Which is obviously a lie and two wrongs don't make a right. On the other hand, Iranian president is on damage control, he's rushing to "punish" those who attacked the Saudi embassy in Tehran, not out of love for Saudi, but because he realized the hole the Shia hardliners put him in and is trying to save his reign from turning into another disaster.

What's funny is that Iran now turned into "Human rights watch", although they're the furthest people from human rights, heck Iranian militias have been besieging a poor Syrian town called Madaya for quite a while now, 42,000 ppl there are dying from hunger... Will they ever talk about this in their media outlets? Nope, no human rights violation there, but the execution of a trouble maker and a Fitnah machine al-Nimr WOW! What a crisis.

The worst part is people think this is a Sunni/Shia conflict. In both Iran and Saudi Arabia the rulers will execute you regardless or your madhab or religion. You speak against the government this is the result. Also, we see people like Musawai in UK going out to the streets and protesting so he can earn more khumms. Yes its true, for the 12er Shia the more they have stories like this, the more they tend to attract people to their Husainyah and collect a larger amount of khumms.

If he converts to Sunnah he becomes a nobody even if he's an actual high ranking Ayatullah. On the other hand, a man with no education or contribution in any science will become a high ranking Marji' with followers and Muqallideen whenever it suites Iranian media.

Zionist and Iranian media are almost similar when it comes to lies and deception... In fact Iranian media is worse (with their 17 million visitors in Karbala)

Also, I don't understand one thing. What happened to the principal of taqiyyah? I thought 12ers are supposedly to be silent on making provocative or explicit statements that can put them in danger, until the 12th Imam reappears.

Nimar told US official that Shia Muslims, even more than Sunnis, are “natural allies for America” as Shia thought, as reflected by Imam Ali, is based on justice and liberty, ideas central to the United States.

A lot of them won't stick to their principals whether it's abiding by Taqiyyah or the prohibition of being ruled by a non-infallible, simply because their principals are not practical and don't make sense, their philosophical ideas are corrupt and have no place in real life.
Yeah! Iran is the greatest evidence that shiasm is based on justice and Liberty lol!

Iran has been trying to make a symbol out of Nimr but when Iran tortured a Shi'i cleric or had one of its own Maraji' executed no one batted an eyelid. If Shi'is really sincerely were against oppression if the Shi'ah they would be protesting against Iran

I would be interested to know how many of these Shia clerics are in this category.

But one thing about KSA is that it is organized and straightforward: It openly said it took custody of the Shia cleric and executed him. Other lands may have staged an accident and/or blamed imaginary "evil forces" for having killed those they consider a threat.
