Title: a question about Najhul Balagha
Post by: Ahlus_sunnah on May 23, 2015, 07:30:30 AM
my question is that if Najhul balagha is a fake book and attributed to İmam Ali(r.a) bu Shareef al radi then why our imams like Bayhaqi and Fakhraddin ar Razi wrote a sharh on it?

BAyhaqi wrote
I have downloaded it and I see the author is Ali bin Zayd al Bayhaqi al Ansari.  But the full name of the Sunni Bayhaqi is 'Ali Ibn Moussa al-Khosrojerdi al-Bayhaqi..... Confusion!!!  ???

And searching for the Sharh of Fakhruddin al razi

^ If it's as you say, then this is from the usual lies and Tadlees of the Shia, they will say "Bayhaqi" to give the illusion that it is the great Imam of Hadith, when it's someone else, probably not even Sunni.

They wrote:

"abu al-Husayn al-Bayhaqi"

The popular Sunni scholar is Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi.

Then it turns out abu al-Husayn al-Bayhaqi is a student of al-Fakhr al-Razi:

تتلمذ على فخر الدين أبي الحسين زيد بن الحسن البيهقي

"A student of Fakhr-ul-Deen was abu al-Husayn Zayd bin al-Hasan al-Bayhaqi."

imam dhahabi writes about him:

الوزير العلامة ، ذو التصانيف ، شرف الدين ، وحجة الدين أبو الحسن ، علي بن أبي القاسم زي

"Allamah, sharufuddeen and hujjat-ad-deen,Abul Hasan Ali b. Abul Qasım Zayd"

ad dhahabi,Siyar

and this site share an information about the life Fakhruddin ar Razi and it says:

مؤلفات الفخر الرازي
Taleefs of fakhruddin ar razi:

كتاب شرح نهج البلاغة
fourth:Kitab sharhu Najhul Balagha

Question is, what does explaining a book have to do with agreeing with its texts in terms of content or authenticity? And since when was al-Fakhr al-Razi a scholar of Hadith science? He was a Mufassir and a Linguist, and the Nahj is a book of eloquence and literature, so why wouldn't he comment on its texts? And is writing a Sharh to a book equal to authentication all of its contents? Besides where is this book so we may check what exactly did these men write as commentary, maybe they objected to many things and dismissed them as fabricated?

Its not a fake book, but we know for a fact that Sharif Razi did tamper with some sermons. One example is he censored Umar's name  and replaced it such as such, and another area is he added a line where it says the sahaba ran away from the battlefield.

^ that is Abul Husayn Bayhaqi not the popular Sunni scholar Abubakr Bayhaqi.

And as you can in the cover the book gets published by the Grand Ayatollah al-Mar'ashi al-Najafi Publishing house.

I have a question.

Imam Ad Dhahabi said somewhere that this book najh ul balaga contains authentic texts mixed with some forgeries.

So how did he recongnize some authentic wordings in najh ul balgha? Did he compare najh ul balagha to another book (which also contains words from Ali) ?

Bro, some words can be found in other narrations here and there, most of it can't, I found some texts that were very similar to passages from Nahj-ul-Balaghah.
