Asalamualaikum.
Many scholars, I've heard have said because he relinquished his position as the Ameer he can't considered among the 4 rightful guided Caliphs.
If the Prophet (SAW) said the first 30 years after him each Ameer will be rightfully guided then doesn't this imply then Al-Hassan (RA) made the wrong choice? He couldn't have because the Prophet (SAW) foretold this event.

From my understanding Hassan (r.a)'s khilafa ended right at the 30 year mark which includes him amongst the rightly guided khalifas.
Hadith foretelling the reconciliation amongst Muslims that Hassan (ra) would bring:
Once the Prophet (ﷺ) brought out Al-Hasan and took him up the pulpit along with him and said, "This son of mine is a Saiyid (i.e. chief) and I hope that Allah will help him bring about reconciliation between two Muslim groups."
Sahih al-Bukhari 3629

It's just a title.

It's just a title.
It has significance.

As I have seen in Al Bidaya wan Nihaya, Hasan(r.a.) was among the rightly guided khalifa_S mentioned to rule inside those 30 yrs

In general once a person becomes a Calipah they remain one until death overcomes them. However, Imam Hassan (as) gave up the position, so this could be the reason he isn't included.
However, as the brother showed the 30 year Caliphate ahadith, this is proof that he is among the rightly guided Calipahs.

Yeah, I totally believe he was apart of the Khulafah Rashideen, and should be regarded so by all scholars.
