Title: Analysis: Historical Religious Disagreement Turns Political in Iraq
Post by: MuslimAnswers on September 07, 2015, 08:42:58 PM
Salam alaykum,

Link of article on niqash about the increasingly sour relationship between Sistani's groups and Khamenei's militias and favourites within Iraq. Worth a read:

In the context of Sunni-Shia discussions, we Sunnis have to be alert that this is a major difference in ideology, and it will not go away easily, and my 'bet' (loosely speaking) is that will inevitably lead to internal Shia Takfirism and violence - especially since billions of dollars of Shia faithfuls' money will be at stake (not mentioned in the article, but it is obvious nonetheless).

Many Shi'i laymen are ignorant of the very wide and apparent disapproval of the Iranian Regime the Iraqi Hawzahs in general have lol. But politics and conflict amongst the Hawzahs are only for the: Shaykhs, Smart and Politicians
