Is it permissible to call Hadhrat Ali Mawla?
-
Yes.
Don't you call your scholars "Mawlana"? Every Muslim is your Wali.
-
Is it permissible to call Hadhrat Ali Mawla?
By extension every Companion (RA) is our Maula not just Ali (RA).
-
Jazakallah
-
What about calling Hadhrat Ali, mushkil Kusha?
-
Is that Urdu? Dude just call him `Ali, that's his name.
-
Yep thats Urdu, just wanted to know because a lot of Shias call him mushkil Kusha, I though only Allah is mushkil kusha!
-

This is pure Shirk.
Mushkil Kusha - مشکل گشا means "The one who helps your problems".

Not just Shias but also a lot of Sunnis call him that as well.

Yes, that is a nice one. Just call people by their names. Abu Bakar rather than Abu Bakar Sadeeq. Because he wasn't the only one. All the Sahaba were Sadeeq just as Abu Bakar and just like him, according to the Ahle Sunnah.
Umar, instead of Umar Farooq. Because the same thing applies here. All the Sahaba were equal and the same. And Usman, instead of Usman Ghani. Why is the controversy from some gentlemen only surrounding and about Ali???!

Brother, as Hani said stick with Ali or any other names referred to him confirmed in the Sunnah i.e. Abu Turab or Abu Hasan. The people Ali (RA) knew in reality addressed with the above nicknames.

You can call anyone by these honorary titles, you just don't have to. I usually refer to most people by their names except the Prophet (saw).
-
Names & Titles of Ali:
- Abu Turab
- Abu'l Hassan
- Ibn Abi Taleb
- Amir'ul Mumineen
- al-Murtada
- Haydar
- Bab al-Madinat'ul `ilm
NOT Mushkil Kusha, Mazhar al-`ajaib, etc.
Is this clear enough for you, Ameen?
-
Dude the Shia invented like a billion titles for him, like Ya`soub and whatever... I bet you he has more titles than the Prophet (saw).
-
Look at this, this is the website of one of their popular scholars, he lists like 70 titles for him then he says "These are only a few out of many".
MEANING, Twelver Shia glorify `Ali more than Allah and his Prophet (saw).
