Assalamu Aleykum,
In this hadith, ibn Abbas use the word "raziyyat" (calamity), do the scholars of islam made an explanation of this term ? Or are there other hadiths from Ibn Abbas (raa) in wich he explain why he use the word calamity to describe this event ?
-
what's wrong with translating it as "calamity"?

There's nothing wrong with this term, but i wanted to know why he use this term to describe this event, he was the only sahabi to use this term, and we as sunni, we don't consider this event as a calamity, that's why i was thinking about this term.

He was the only Sahabi who narrated this event anyway, nobody else narrated it as far as I know.
He used the term since it was in the final days of the Prophet (saw), he was dying and they fought around his bed which caused him grief and anger, add to that he never wrote that document for them (regardless of what it contains but still).

Regardless, Abdullah bin Abbas in the end withdrew from Imam Ali's Caliphate, which shows that the last will had nothing do with the divine appointment of Ali.

Barak Allahu fikum for your answers.
