This is a wrong paradigm put forward by the Shi'a that the Sunnis are inherently violent. The violence going on right now throughout the middle east is primarily because of the Khawaarij, not the mainstream Ahlus Sunnati wal Jama'ah people. Historically, the Khawaarij and Rawaafid have been like two sides of the same coin. They have more similarities than differences. Both are upon the fikr of opposing the Jama'ah of the Muslims and separating themselves; that is the essence of sectarianism from the Qur'anic perspective, for a group of Muslims to separate from the Jama'ah, each party celebrating what its distinguishing point through which it exited the Jama'ah. One can see that all of this barbaric violence is centered in Iraq. This land has historically been associated with evil and tribulation going all the way back to Babylon and even before as this was the country sayyidina Khaleel-ur-Rahmaan عليه السلام made Hijrah away from to settle in Bait al Maqdis. These days it is virtually impossible for a mainstream Sunni to live in that country and openly practice Sunni Islam without either being persecuted by the Shi'ite government or murdered by the Kharijite fanatics or Rafidi militias.
