Iblis was the first Hanafi Jurist

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn ‘Abdallah al-‘Aqili from ‘Isa
ibn ‘Abdallah al-Qurashi who has said the following.

"Once abu Hanifah came to see Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who said to abu Hanifah, "O abu
Hanifah, do you practice analogy as I hear you do?"

Abu Hanifah replied, "Yes, I do practice analogy." The Imam then said to him, "Do not
practice it because the first person who used analogy was Satan when he said, "Lord, you
have created me from fire and created him from clay." He analogized fire with clay. If he
would have analogized the light in the clay and fire he would have learned about the
difference between the two lights and the excellence of one over the other."

Some comments:

1. Iblis didn't use analogy for the purposes of fiqh. He used it to claim superiority over Adam (as). So what is the relevance exactly for the Imam to say this?

2. The Imam tells Abu Hanifa not to use analogy - but then states:

"If he would have analogized the light in the clay and fire he would have learned about the
difference between the two lights and the excellence of one over the other."

So I am led to conclude that you can use analogy, so long as you reach the correct conclusion? Contradicting himself?

I don't understand how this is analogy.

Analogy would be comparing one set of events with a similar set of events or things.

Iblees is contrasting between clay and fire...

Unless I'm completely missing the point..??

That's another thing I was thinking.

Perhaps the Imam didn't know what an analogy is?

Or, maybe there is some batini ta'wili interpretation for it that only he knew?

Where's Taqiyyah?

They just fabricated hadith in order criticize Abu Hanifa (ra). Especially since it's weird for shias that a student would have a different aqida than his teacher.
Before Qazî Mihemed, President of the first kurdish Republic Mahabad was hanged the iranian judge asked:

“last words?”

Qazî: “I thank Allah: even in death he put my shoes above your heads”

Are you saying al-Sadiq was the teacher of Satan?

Lol, as you can see, many things are wrong with that narration :D

The ironic part is  'the infallible imam' uses analogy to try to dismiss analogy.
