No Kings from Descendants of al-Hassan (RA)

According to a hadith in al-Kafi, al-Hassan (ra) would not have any descendant who was a King:

H 642, Ch. 40, h 8

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id
from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bashir from Fudayl ibn Sukra who
has said that once I went to abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) and he said the following to me.

"O Fudayl, do you know what at did I look just awhile before?" The narrator has said that he said to the
Imams (a.s.), "No, I do not know." The Imam (a.s.) said, "I was looking at the book of Fatima
(a.s.). There is no king who would rule on earth with being listed therein by his name and the
name of his father but I did not find the name of any of the descendent of al-Hassan therein."

There must have been tahrif in the "book" of Fatima (ra), as the following dynasties are descendants of al-Hassan (ra):

Alid Dynasty of Somalia

Hashemite Dynasty of Jordan

That's a few that I found.

They fabricated this narration in the time of banu al-`Abbas to keep the leadership in the children of Husayn since they apparently had some tough criticism directed towards them from al-Hasan's children.

I can add more examples of these types of narrations against al-Hasan's progeny if you wish.

Here in this Hadith al-Rabi` debates with `Abdullah bin al-Hasan bin al-Hasan bin `Ali ibn abi Talib, the son of al-Hasan is saying that Imamah is in both Hasan and Husayn's progeny, whereas al-Rabi` the Rafidi "companion" of al-Sadiq corrects `Abdullah bin al-Hasan and tells him that it's only in Husayn's children:

وعن الربيع بن عبدالله قال : وقع بيني وبين عبدالله بن الحسن كلام في الإمامة، فقال عبدالله بن الحسن : إن
الإمامة في و لد الحسن والحسين، فقلت : بل في ولد الحسين إلى يوم القيامة دون ولد الحسن، فقال لي : وكيف
صارت في ولد الحسين دون الحسن وهما سيدا شباب أهل الجنة، وهما في الفضل سواء إلا أن للحسن على
الحسين فضلاً بالكبر، وكان الواجب أن تكون الإمامة إذن في الأفضل؟
فقلت له : إن مو سى وهارون كانا نبيين مرسلين، وكان موسى أفضل من هارون عليهما السلام، فجعل
الله عز وجل النبوة والخلافة في ولد هارون دون ولد موسى ، وكذلك جعل الله عز وجل الإمامة في ولد
الحسين دون ولد الحسن ليجري في هذه الأمة سنن من قبلها من الأمم حذو النعل بالنعل، ثم قال : فدخ لت
.( على الصادق، فلما بصر بي قال لي: أحسنت يا ربيع فيما كلمت به عبدالله بن الحسن ثبتك الله

Another Rafidi called `Ali bin Sa`eed complains to al-Sadiq about `Abdullah bin al-Hasan, so al-Sadiq says: "It is truly weird that `Abdullah claims `Ali ibn abi Talib was not a (divine) Imam and that we have no (special) knowledge etc...

علي بن سعيد قال: كنت جالساً عند أبي عبدالله، فقال رجل: جعلت فداك، إن عبدالله بن الحسن
يقول: مالنا في هذا الأمر ما ليس لغيرنا، فقال أبو عبدالله -بعد كلام-: أما تعجبون من عبدالله، يزعم أن أباه
علياً لم يكن إماماً، ويقول: إنه ليس عندنا علم، وصدق والله ما عنده علم، ولكن والله -وأهوى بيده إلى
صدره- إن عندنا سلاح رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وسيفه ودرعه، وعندنا والله مصحف فاطمة ما فيه
آية من كتاب الله، وإنه من إملاء رسول الله وخطه علي بيده، والجفر وما يدرون ما هو، مسك من شاة، أو
.( مسك من بعير(

They attribute to the son of Ja`far called `Ali (who never met his father an lived in Kufa among the lunatics) that he said that `Abdullah bin al-Hasan challenged Ja`far and claimed he had more knowledge and wisdom and piety etc...

وعن علي بن جعفر قال: بعث عبدالله بن الحسن إلى أبي: يقول لك أبو محمد: أنا أشجع منك، وأنا أسخى
منك، وأنا أعلم منك، فقال لرسوله : أما الشجاعة فوالله ما كا ن لك موقف يعرف به جبنك من شجاعتك،
وأما السخي فهو الذي يأخذ الشيء فيضعه في حقه، وأما العلم فقد أعتق أبوك علي بن أبي طالب ألف مملوك،
فسم لنا خمسة منهم، وأنت عالم، فعاد إليه فأعلمه، ثم عاد إليه، فقال : يقول: إنك رجل صحفي، فقال له أبو
.( عبدالله: قل: إي والله، صحف إبراهيم وموسى وعيسى ورثتها عن آبائي

`Abdul-Rahman bin Katheer the Rafidi claims that the sons of al-Hasan were in Madinah calling people towards themselves and falsely claiming Imamah...

فعن عبدالرحمن بن كثير أن رجلاً دخل يسأل عن الإمام
بالمدينة، فاستقبله رجل من ولد الحسين، فقال له : يا هذ ا، إني أراك تسأل عن الإمام، قال : نعم، قال: فأصبته؟
قال: لا، قال : فإن أحببت أن تلقى جعفر بن محمد فافعل، فاستدله فأرشده إليه، فلما دخل عليه قال له : إنك
دخلت مدينتنا هذه تسأل عن الإمام، فاستقبلك فتى من ولد الحسن فأرشدك إلى محمد بن عبدالله، فسألته
وخرجت، فإن شئت أخبرتك بما سألته عنه وما رد ه عليك، ثم استقبلك فتى من ولد الحسين، وقال لك : إن
.( أحببت أن تلقى جعفر بن محمد فافعل، قال: صدقت، كان كل ما ذكرت ووصفت

Oh and as for criticism some narrations are mentioned in Sunni books where some of them either deny Imamah altogether or attack Rafidi beliefs and insult them openly.

This ahadith was intended to attack the Imamate of Imam Nafs-az-Zakiyah (as) and his brother Imam Nafs-ar-Raziyyah (as).

They are balanced sects but I have differences with them too.

They believe in absolute free will. Also, they believe if a sinner doesn't repent he will go to hell and once you are in hell you remain there forever.
However, I believe out of all the sects they came closest to the truth.

These Imams are not only the Imams of the Zaidia. In those days many Sunni scholars gave bayah to these Imams and accepted them as the Imams of time.

^ Because he's not Sunni. If he were Sunni he'd tell you Sunnies are closest to the truth. That's kinda how it works.
