Putting hands closed in salat
« on: May 15, 2015, 09:52:02 PM »
As Salamu Alaikum,
I am seeing that Shia preachers claiming that-"Putting hands closed in Salat is from jews, Prophet(s.a.w.) forbade it, reference available even in Sunni narrations"
and some of them also claiming that Quran talked about Jews who keep their hands closed(like we do in salat) and Quran orders to offer prayers without folded hands!

here is an example of their claim-
http://www.shiapen.com/fiqh/shia-method-of-prayers-salat/open-hands.html

There are some MAD explanation of ayas of Quran surely :D

And I have noticed that they mistranslated a hadith from Musnad Ahmad;Nailul Awtar. (رافعي) means lifting/raising. but ShiaPen Translated it "Folding" :D

Whatever......

Can my expert brothers help me to refute this claim?

Wa alaykum alsalam wa rahmatullah,

The first narration on the page you shared, from A'isha is referring to putting the hands on the waist. It doesn't say: folding.

كانت تكره أن يجعل يده في خاصرته وتقول أن اليهود تفعله

As for placing the right on the left, we agree that this is practised by Jews, but that they were ordered to do this by their prophets. This is a silly shubha.

Shia themselves have ahadith to fold hands if I remember good. (I think it refered to women only)
Before Qazî Mihemed, President of the first kurdish Republic Mahabad was hanged the iranian judge asked:

“last words?”

Qazî: “I thank Allah: even in death he put my shoes above your heads”

Yes , I have seen in the blog of Nader Zaveri. If at least for Women, then how can they declare that folding hands is from Jews ?!!!

Funny article man, these ShiaPen guys have one strategy, and that is to bombard you with walls of text hoping you'll simply get tired reading it, and not bother responding.

So, they use a Qur'anic justification to condemn folding hands in Salaat. They cite the following verse:

الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ بَعْضُهُم مِّن بَعْضٍ ۚ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمُنكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ

The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands.

Qur'an 9:67

So "Qabd", folding the hands, has been associated with the hypocrites.

How about this verse:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّـهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ

Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects (Shias) - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only
to Allah; then He will inform them about what they used to do.

Qur'an 6:159

We will stop folding our hands if you stop being Shias ^^

They also say:

Quote
A Momin does not wish to share any similarities with the Jews, likewise folding the hands in the presence of the Creator.

Do Shias eat pigs?

Great said Brother Husayn   ;D

They try to play trickery by posting ayats of Quran randomly, even without any relation!

And about eating pigs :D :D :D
