Unfortunately it seems that most Wikipedia articles regarding certain ahadith and events appear to be edited heavily by Shi'is, and display an almost complete lack of information regarding the view of Ahlul Sunnah.

Sunni, on the other hand, say the hadith is simply saying Ali is our friend, and/or that Muhammad only said that to be kind. This is due them not being able to reconcile the hadith to their sect believing Abu Bakr ibn Qhuhafah is their successor to Muhammad, especially considering its Sahih isnad (chaing of narrators).

Sunnis also liken it to their report of Muhammad referring to Abu Ubaidah ibn al Jarrah as "a secretary of this nation." They also argue that Bakries have a hadith that Umar ibn al-Khattab should be the next prophet, but this hadith is of a mawdu (fabricated)[citation needed] isnad (chain or narrators), and makes no sense considering Abu Bakr was their first caliph, not Umar.

I think something needs to be done about this, as Wikipedia is practically the first source people refer to when seeking information on the internet, and the information that they are getting is extremely poor and biased.

I mean, how ridiculous is this that the word "Bakries" is used in reference to Ahlul Sunnah.

You're 100% correct, there is so much Shia material on wiki that some may believe the Muslims are split 50/50 like the Christians, no one would ever think that this is the view of a very small minority sect.


If you visit the Arabic version of most wikipedia topics, you'll find correct information but the English version is disastrous.


Problem is, there's only about 10 English speaking Sunnies online today who know how to debate and deal with Imamiyyah, and these 10 are up against hundreds of online English speaking Shia as well as Shia organisations that are mainly dedicated to spreading Tashayyu` everywhere.
