Tawheed

In the pm exchange between brother farid & the member on sc, the sc members felt farid was dodging the question they were asking (which is unfair as he could no longer pm).
Their argument was that if Allah has hands, etc then the creator is made up of divisible parts.
For them this is incorrect as they say that means each part would be worshipped & also a part is a creation so how can Allah be creator & creation at same time.

I would like to see the brothers replies to this on here.

Firstly, it should be known that this is not our main difference with Shias. If their main issue were the attributes of Allah, then they will find common ground with Ash'ari Sunnis. As most of you know, I am a Salafi Sunni.

I never said that Allah is made out of "parts". Everyone knows that the attributes of Allah are not like the attributes of humans. With this in mind, it is incorrect to say He is made up of "parts".

However, FOR THE SAKE OF THE ARGUMENT, even if Salafis said this, it would not make them Mushrikeen.

This is like a foolish Muslim arguing with a Christian and telling him that you are practicing polygamy. The Christian responds by saying, "But I only have one wife!" The foolish Muslim would respond, "No! Your wife is made up of two arms, two legs, and a head, so you are practicing polygamy!"

This line of argumentation would make any rational Muslim cringe.

Similarly, Salafis worship ONE god, even IF they said, "He is made up of individual body parts," which they don't, they would still be upon monotheism.

Even Ash'aris don't accuse Salafis of this. The only reason that Shias accuse Salafis of this is because Salafis are a thorn in the neck of Shiasm.

However, if they were sincere, they would accuse extreme Shias instead! They would accuse those that say that the Imam controls all the atoms in the universe, that they create, and that they provide us with provisions... but nooooo, those are only "exaggerators" and not Mushrikeen!! Their bias is ridiculous.

Tawheed must be well defined for us all. Most Muslims including Ahlul-Hadith concentrate on Tawheed which addresses the Oneness of God and not associating partners with Him. Other Muslims including Mu`tazillah seem to concentrate on the Tawheed which addresses Uniqueness of God and not likening him to creation.

Of course both teams had people who went to extremes, from the first group a number of minor sects literally believed that God is a physical body. From the second group a number of sects rejected all of God's names and attributes then twisted the meaning of many verses and authentic reports.

Ahlul-Sunnah are the large body of Muslims, we have among our ranks people holding various opinions from Mu`tazili ones to philosophical to the most extreme of Salafi views. Pick and choose what suites you and makes sense to you.

Religion = simple & clear
