Shia claimed sunni narrations admit we can become better than the companion of the prophet sallahu 'alaihi wassalam
Narrated from Abu Jum’ah RA that he said “We ate with the prophet sallahu 'alaihi wassalam and with us Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah RA said “Ya Rasulullah SAW, is there anyone better than us? We embraced Islam, went for jihad with you. He replied “Yes, people after you who believe in me although not seeing me".
Narrated by Ahmad in Musnad Ahmad 4/106 no 17017, Syaikh Syu’aib Al Arnauth said حديث صحيح
.
Al Haitsami in Majma’ Az Zawaid 10/52 no 16693 said
رواه أحمد وأبو يعلى والطبراني بأسانيد وأحد أسانيد أحمد رجاله ثقات
Narrated by Ad Darimi dalam Sunan Ad Darimi 2/398 no 2744 with authenthic chain. Al Hakim in Mustadrak Ash Shahihain 4/85 no 6992, he claimed it as shahih and approved by Adz Dzahabi in Talkhis Al Mustadrak .
How can we become better the companion when Allah clearly give them paradise? Is this hadith contradicted with Quran?

He also promised it to those who follow them in Ihsaan:
And the foremost to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajirun ) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success. [9:100]
May Allah makes from those who follow them in Ihsaan.
والله أعلم

Scholars have provided explanations for this hadith, and one of them is that those that have come after the Prophet peace be upon him are better than the Sahaba in the act of accepting Islam, and not overall.
Another explanation is that the people that never saw him can have better deeds than the Sahaba, but they will still get less rewards, because the Sahaba raised Islam to glory in the most critical stage, while those that served Islam after them had it easy in comparison.

According to this logic, aren't we better than 'Ali, Fatima, al-Hassan & al-Husayn (radhi Allahu anhum)??
