No brother. Many of the Salaf were Sunni Persians, the master of all time of the Arabic grammar language was a Sunni Persian from Shiraz (Sibawayh). In the sub continent the Ahl Hadis are very strong and have chains back to Imam Bukhari and many Shaikhs even from Saudi Arabia travel to the sub continent to learn from the scholars over there.
