Who was more "deserving" of the Caliphate after Ali (RA)
« on: March 05, 2015, 04:17:05 PM »
Some say it was Muawiyah (RA) because of his experience of being the govenor or Sham for 20 years, and commanded great respect from his people where as Al-Hassan (RA) was only nominated as the successor because he was the eldest son of the late Calipha. This is why Muawiyah (RA) launched his army against him to pressure him to stand down.

This way both prophecies of the Prophet (SAW) has come to pass.

1) Al-Hassan (RA) become a true Syed by reuniting two armies/members of his Ummah
2) Muawiyah (RA) becoming a King

As far as vast experience in how to run every aspect of a state whether economically or militarily or politically Mu`awiyah ibn abi Sufiyan was unrivaled in his time.

However, al-Hasan would have been the best leader simply because he is more pious and merciful than Mu`awiyah, also his lineage commands great respect.

I'd take the most pious and merciful leader anytime.

This is just like how Dajjal will be hard to rival for the Mahdi until Prophet Isa (as) appears.

You compare Muawiya (RA) with dajjaal?
Before Qazî Mihemed, President of the first kurdish Republic Mahabad was hanged the iranian judge asked:

“last words?”

Qazî: “I thank Allah: even in death he put my shoes above your heads”

Hes not a sunni. His view of mu'awiyah ra is worse than shia, because he shouldve known better.

I know he isn't a sunni.

@rationalist, the mahdi won't give his allegiance to the dajjal ;)

He has a few twisted views, too.

In this era only people who leave Islam will leave the Mahdi. Whereas Imam Al Hassan's (as) era there wasn't a unanimous support of Muslim, like we had under the rule of Umar.

If you add the fact that the 12ers don't see Abi bakr and Umar any different from Muawiyah and Yazid in terms of Imaan.
