I just wanted to say to everyone that I enjoyed this site very much and I learned alot. As you may know I've been trying to decide which path of Islam to take and after much thinking and many duas, I have come to the conclusion that the path of the Ahlul Sunnah Wa l Jamah is the path that is closer to true Islam and that of the righteous salaf and yes that includes Abu Bakr and crew. I have also chosen Hanafi as my madhab and I feel completely satisfied. Although I am no longer Shia I enjoyed this site very much and it has enlightened me about the Shia. At first I didn't even know basic things like why they use turbah. Anyway I enjoyed this site and I think it's wonderful and I just wanted to share my results of searcing for the right path.

This is exactly what I thought would happen Im just making a simple announcement and some people are havin a heart attack :!!!: Well im not gonna reply to anyones post and keep arguing about why I chose this. My answer to you all is simply because In my heart I found this the right path. That's it im not gonna say because this hadith because this person said this, this was done back then. What's in the past is in the past. And I am completely happy with my choice. Thank you sister.

I think what brother Ali Zaki said is a big part of it. Talking about the companions of the prophet. Also I noticed that It wasnt so much the religious doctrine that attracted me to Shism in the first place it was the way it was portrayed how the family of the Prophet, the imams were oppressed that in itself attracted me. I mean I do think Ali maybe should have been the first Caliph, but I find no problem with Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman being the first. Also I don't think Ali was anything more than a human. He was very intelligent, very brave, never worshiped idols etc., but I think he was just a very good and pious human, no more. I have a problem with what they say about the companions of the Prophet because of several reasons, besides the fact that I think we need to worry about ourselves first before we judge others. Also the fact that Omar even before he became muslim was known for his bravery and he was the only one to openly make tawaf around the kaba. And when he was Caliph he contended himself with a very modest living. He wore patched clothes, and when I forgot who visited him they didn't know it was him who was the Caliph because they expected a big king sitting on a throne and he was sleeping outside wearing old clothes. Also the fact that he could sleep outside proves he was a good ruler otherwise he would have to fear for his life. About Abu Bakr when he was in the Cave with the Prophet if he was bad, why didn't he tell the other people to come snatch the prophet? As for Uthman I feel he was a humble man who allowed marwan to dominate and his family take positions. But I don't think it was out of being a tyrant, I think he was just a nice man who was easily dominated by Marwan. Also if the Imams never claimed to in fact be Imams then I look at it as the situation with Isa. He never proclaimed to be the son of God. Yet people said he was. So if the Imams never said they were Imams, then I think its the same. But I also don't think it's clear cut. Ones wrong ones right. I think it could go either way thats why I had trouble deciding which path. So I didn't say Sunni Islam is the true path. I said I feel it's closer to the true path. So basically after thinking about it I felt politically I was Shia but not religiously. I have nothing against Shia. I mean look at Iran for example mainly Shia, and there doing better than any other Muslim country today. There not influenced by the West, they don't back down. There an Islamic State. A great Shia was the one who caused revolution in the first place Khomeini. I look at my own trouble in deciding as the reason that Shia Islam is in fact Islam if it was clear cut no one would have trouble deciding it's not black in white. But I agree we should continue to learn about the other if not to decide which sect we want to follow, then to learn for mutual understanding and uniting. school of thought*
