Why is Imam Jafar called Abu Abdulah?

Why is Imam Jafar called Abu Abdulah?

In the 12er Shia book imam Jafar disowned his son Abdullah for declaring the Imamate. So why was he, and why is he still referred to as Abu Abdullah?

Because they made the story of him disowning his son to save their beliefs.
