As per the principles of hadeeth science the hadeeth is unreliable. One of the narrator was called a thief.

Adam (as) was divinely appointed and there were disagreements coming from the infallible angels. Abu Bakr was not divinely appointed so disagreements are bound to happen and these disagreement will stand till the day of judgement. The difference the 12er Shia belief Saqifa was as destructive as Karbala.

another Shiite website

The report is very weak and holds no value due to the untrustworthy narrator Ulwan bin Dawud.

Al-Bukhari and Muslim quote hadiths from Omar Ib Sa'ad, who was a commander in the army which murdered the grandson of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) in cold blood. Your 'hadeeth science' is simply quite overrated lol. Narrations show him to authorise the shooting of an arrow at the toddler child of Imam Hussain (AS), whilst your 'hadeeth science' specialist deem him truthful hahahahahaha

We need to see these narrations.  Please share them!  Otherwise, your truthfulness will come under question in the light of what I am about to share.

From what I have read, Umar ibn Sa'ad has one narration in our six books; it is in Sunan Al-Nasa’ee, which is weak, but is supported by other narrations in the very same chapter.

In Musnad Ahmad, Umar bin Sa’ad narrated from his father that the Prophet (saw) said, “I am amazed by the judgement of Allah upon the believer: If good happened to him, he would thank his Lord, and if evil occurred, he would thank his Lord and be patience, and the believer is always rewarded, even when he raises the food for his wife to eat.”

The first portion of the hadith is the famous hadith of Suhaib Al-Rumi, which can be found in Sahih Muslim.  As for the second part of the hadith (about receiving rewards for feeding one’s wife) can be found in the narration of Amir bin Sa’ad from his father in the Sahihain.

So his narration in Musnad Ahmad is an amalgamation of two authentic reports by Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqas (ra) and Suhayb ar-Rumi (ra).

Typical Shi'i tactic!  Appeal to emotion and misrepresent our position to somehow validate your ridiculous argument.  Did you know that Yahya bin Ma’een was asked if Umar ibn Sa'ad was trustworthy and he responded, "How can the killer of Al-Hussain be trustworthy?!"

He, however, was truthful because there is no evidence he lied in a narration.  And this brings me to my first claim: appeal to emotion.  For you (Shias), it is easy to write someone off based on emotions.  Our science of hadith on the other hand, contrary to your claim that it is overrated, separates emotions from facts.  While it is easy to take the less controversial route and disregard the man, our hadith sciences and experts took the difficult path so that even criminals like Umar ibn Sa'ad were treated fairly.  His crime was made known and so was the fact that he did not lie in whatever he narrated.

If you want to see what double standards are, then ask him what is the status of Ikrima Mawla Ibn Abbas in their view.
