Title: Earliest effort of collecting fabrications

Salam alaykum,

People here often try to prove the superiority of a sect by showing how early their primary sources are, but I was wondering how early the first serious efforts are of collecting fabrications that are in favor of their sect in both Sunni and Shia literature?
