Title: Is this an authentic statement of Ali (RA)?
Post by: Optimus Prime on May 05, 2016, 01:58:39 AM
Hafiz Ibn Katheer (R. A.) reports that none other than Ali(Radhiallaahu Anhu) said after the Battle of Siffin:'O people, do nothate or talk ill of the leadership of Mu'awiya (Radhiallaahu Anhu), forif you loose him it would be such a tragedy as if you see your limbsfalling from your bodies'.

Because Mu'awiyah was not a leader yet. They were still at war after Siffeen.

It smells like a fabrication.

Is he the narrator or the source?

Can, you post the entire narration, please?

The narration is in Ibn Saad's Tabaqat.

It says: After Ali came from Siffeen and realized that he cannot win, he started to say what he never said before. He then said, "Don't hate the rule of Muawiyah, or else you will see heads rolling off." Something along those lines.

@ Farid

Is this report authentic?
