al-Fihrist by al-Tusi

I came across this very interesting quote from شيخ الطائفة i.e. "Shaikh of the Sect" (the Shi'as) al-Tusi in his book Fihrist, which "is a bibliographical book written by al-Shaykh al-Tusi in Arabic, in which a list of scholarly works by Shiite authors is provided. Al-Fihrist is one of the most important sources of Shiite rijal and bibliography."

In it he says the following:

فلابد من أن أشير إلى ما قيل فيه من التعديل والتجريح، وهل يعول على روايته أو لا، وأبين عن اعتقاده وهل هو موافق للحق أو هو مخالف له، لان كثيرا من مصنفي أصحابنا وأصحاب الأصول ينتحلون المذاهب الفاسدة، وإن كانت كتبهم معتمدة.

He says, "... therefore, it is a must that I point out which has been said about him (i.e. the person he is mentioning the biography of) in regards to Jarh wa Ta'deel, and whether we can rely on his narration or not.  And to point out his aqeedah; does it confirm to the truth or not?  Because A LOT of the authors from our companions and those who wrote the Usool (i.e. the books the Shi'as rely on for hadeeth) adopt corrupt madhhabs, even if their books are relied upon!"

Subhanallah, can you imagine?  A lot of those who, wrote the earliest Shi'a books, and who actually LIVED AMONG THE IMAMS, held a different aqeedah than the Shaykh of the Shi'as at-Tusi!  How much more clear could it be that the 12er Madhhab is a later fabrication if even the scholars who lived during the times of the Imams and who met the students of the Imams weren't 12ers!
