Salam alaykum,

Important article that has been uploaded, a translation of Shaykh Tahaa Karaan's piece on the matter:

(If this already been linked to somewhere on this forum, the admins can merge this into that thread)

Its a good intro. We need articles that get past the intros.

Even if it is an introduction, it is necessary, we know that what seems second-nature to some of us may still be very new information to most Sunnis - the same with the series of lectures Shaykh Karaan gave about the Twelver religion a few years ago, it is perhaps introductory at a certain level, but it still caused quite a stir nevertheless.

If shia sources are based in the 400 usul which in turn are comprised of the asl of zurara etc, then I would like to know more about these asl. Their authenticity, details etc.

How do these compare with the asl of the students of the four sunni imams?

While the article may be basic, many points are quite advanced and may not be understood by a beginner. I specifically mean the scandals of the so called four emissaries.
