Title: Can `Ali defeat an army on his own?
Post by: Hani on February 21, 2015, 04:41:38 AM
al-Salamu `Aleykum,

A question to Shia Imamis, I just heard that Shia believe `Ali ibn abi Talib defeat an entire army on his own? Is this correct?

I was once told that Allah had to tell Abul Fazl Abbas to stop killing the army of Yazid or else he would've killed everyone. I'm not sure if it's a Shia rumour or something actually in Shia books.  :P

I need an answer form an Imami, simply because I wish to follow it by the question: "Why did the Muslims lose in Uhud"?

They say all victories were due to the heroism of Ali, and the defeat were due to the cowardice of rest of the Muslim army.

Let's ask this new Imami Shia on the website "labelingtheory", is it true that `Ali can defeat an entire army by himself?

Only if there is i'jaz. Otherwise, normally, no.
