Title: Imamah: Even the reasoning of their Imams is flawed and shallow!

The Rafidah on Shi .. chat:

... have a sticky thread called "Important Questions - ANSWERED!". They try to answer some shubuhat by Sunnis, we should tackle all their poor responses, I mean it's so easy, their answers are so shallow, even the ones they put on the mouths of their Imams. For now I will focus on their answers/justifications of their Imamat belief of 12 alleged divinely appointed infallibles.

They basically copy/paste Islam org (notorious liars who have been caught more than once lying through their teeth) answers, but there is one about Imamah, a specific one, if you as a Sunni can destroy that one, then any other justification attempt of them can be easily dismissed and ignored this is because it is an alleged hadith of an infallible, and what a miserable one it is. They have portrayed Imam al-Sadiq رحمه الله like an idiot, someone with an shallow mind and shallow answer but the good outcome is that none of their scholars can claim to be smarter than their alleged Imam and his (pathetic) answer, see how easy it is to destroy it:

Quote
Question #3: Everyone keeps asking me, why weren't the 12 Imams of the Ahlul-Bayt (a) specifically mentioned BY NAME in the Holy Qur'an? Sunnis and non-Muslims are hounding me. I don't have a clear answer and it's giving me doubts and anxiety. After all, this is a significant part of my faith and you would think the Qur'an would be clearer about this, and make the matter unambiguous, to stop all the fighting and arguing. I thought the Qur'an was supposed to be the complete guide for everything? WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THIS?

But as to why the Imams (ع) have not been mentioned by name, at least two answers could be propounded.

Firstly, the normal pattern of the Qur`an is to deal with issues in a general tone, providing the general principles and rules, without getting into the explanation of the minute details. This is the method the Qur`an takes up in many instances and it is for this reason that when Imam Ja’far b. Muhammad as-Sadiq (ع) was asked about this question, he replied that, “It is the same case with the daily prayer, the zakat, and hajj: Allah has mentioned only their general rules in the Qur`an but has not elucidated the details. It was the Prophet (ص) who expressed the precise method of carrying out such duties and their related details. In the same vein, regarding the question of succession, the Prophet (ص) himself specified the names of ‘Ali and his household (ع) as his successors and so there was no need for their names to have been expressed in the Qur`an itself.
This is such a flawed argument and proves that the Zindeeq who fabricated the narration in the name of Imam al-Sadiq had no clue about the Qur'an (similar to their Maraji' today). First of all, the Qur'an is NOT general in tone about CRUCIAL matters of faith. For instance:

- The Qur'an doesn't say that there is "A" final Messenger without making ABSOLUTELY clear who that is (hence there more than one verses where the actual NAME of the Prophet is mentioned)

- The daily prayer is NOT mentioned in the Qur'an in a general way, rather MANY details are CLEARLY mentioned including:

The Five Times Are Specified in the Quran

The Dawn Prayer is mentioned by name in 24:58. Before sunrise.
The Noon Prayer is specified in 17:78. When the sun declines.
The Afternoon Prayer is in 2:238. Midway between noon and sunset.
The Sunset Prayer is mentioned in 11:114. Immediately after sunset.
The Night Prayer is in 11:114, and is mentioned by name in 24:58.

Even ablution and many of its details are mentioned in the Qur'an:

O you who believe, in preparation for the Contact Prayer, you shall
(1) wash your faces,
(2) wash your arms to the elbows,
(3) wipe your heads with wet hands, and
(4) wash your feet to the ankles. [5:6]

Not to mention that Qiblah, Qiyam, Ruku3, Sujud and other details are mentioned too! The narration to Imam al-Sadiq is not just a fabrication but a poor one on top of it, a very shallow one, undoubtly made by someone desperate who neither knows the Qur'an nor wants to admit that there is no Imamah (in Shia Imamite sense) in the Qur'an nor Mutawatir Sunnah whatsoever.

Quote
In the same vein, regarding the question of succession, the Prophet (ص) himself specified the names of ‘Ali and his household (ع) as his successors and so there was no need for their names to have been expressed in the Qur`an itself.

That bit is actually a complete lie. The best arguments of the Shia are so mutashabih (ambigious) that even the Ghadir incident can be used against them, for when did the Prophet declared anybody besides Ali (for the sake of argument we submit to the wrong Shia understanding that it was a declaration of Ali's leadership) as his successor? 12 CALIPHS/AMIRS (not Imams) who RULED hadith? Only two of the alleged Shia Imams ruled, that hadith doesn't apply to them. So where did the Prophet SPECIFIED their names, at his last HAJJ?! NO! At Ghadir? NO! What kind of religion is Shiism to call their 12 Imams Hujjajullah (clear evidences of Allah) when the MESSENGER of Allah never declared them as such (let alone the Qur'an!).

Quote
Secondly, in such an issue, where there was a good chance of opposition, prudence necessitated that the Qur`an mention the issue indirectly and through allusions for there was the possibility that opposition to the issue of Imamate might lead to opposition to the Qur`an and the main core of Islam, which was certainly not in the interest of the Muslims. That is, if there were a verse specifying the succession of ‘Ali (ع), the opponents would have distorted it out of their opposition to him, and this would have violated the value of Islam and the Qur`an as the final religion and the eternal and divine book. For, it should be borne in mind that one of the ways by which the Qur`an could be preserved—for Allah (awj) has asserted, “Indeed We have sent down the Reminder [i.e. the Qur`an] and indeed We will preserve it.”[295]—is to remove the natural motives for opposition and distortion.

Another shallow argument and an insult to the Qur'an it's as if these people don't read the Qur'an. The Qur'an challenged and threatened Abu Lahab during his lifetime (!), the biggest enemy of Islam, during a time were Islam was weak! Neither Abu Lahab could have changed or distorted Islam nor Abu Bakr or 'Omar or anybody else. The name of the Prophet (saws) is clearly mentioned in the Qur'an, yes, false Prophets emerged, but none of them claimed to be Muhammad nor did Allah give them success. So the assumption "if there were a verse specifying the succession of ‘Ali (ع), the opponents would have distorted it out of their opposition to him" is far from the truth, it would have been a clear Hujjah if his name or at least the number of Imams were mentioned but none of it is, because there is no divine Imamah of infallible individuals who share all characteristics of Prophets (except being called Prophets!!!) in the Qur'an.

Quote
Hence, the Qur`an, firstly, refrains from expressing the names of the Imams (ع); and secondly, places the verses that are related to the question of Imam ‘Ali b. Abi Talib (ع) successorship, the Verse of Tabligh (which regards the official announcement of Imam ‘Ali b. Abi Talib’s (ع) successorship), and the Verse of Tathir (which regards the infallibility of the Prophet’s household) between other apparently unrelated verses so as to diminish, as much as possible, the motives for distortion and in so doing secure the Qur`an against all possible attacks.

More Mutashabihat, as you can see the BEST verses they can bring are ALL mutashabih, nothing sarih (clear-cut), all verses that require Tafsir etc.

I know, unbelievable that one asks such a question while being upon a religion that claims that the Imamah of 12 particular individuals is more ESSENTIAL to our well being than the Nubuwwah and Imamah of those who are INFERIOR in rank yet CLEARLY mentioned in the Qur'an (i.e. the Prophets). I let you guys have fun with this one here:

Many details are in Quran like.

1. They are the chosen family of Mohammad just as past nations had Imams in forms of chosen families.
2. Generally they are offspring and grandchildren linking to a forefather just as it was in the past.
3. They are pure and free of injustice.
4. They are the only people who can possess authority of God and his religion and represent God and his Prophet.
5. They are twelve in number.
6. They been given superiority and are chosen from his servants.
7. They inherited the book and know it's interpretation.
8. Disbelieving in them would result in hell.
9. Love of them is the path to God.
10. They are the remembrance of the Quran and light brought down.
11. Seeking knowledge from them due to the fact all Prophets before were sent with revelation.

I don't usually respond to you because even though we both speak the same language it seems as though we are from different planets. However, I am interested in one of the above points that you made:

5. They are twelve in number.

I do not recall seeing a verse that suggests this. Please share the verse without providing a loose interpretation that is only adopted by yourself. Remember, the Qur'an is evidence against mankind, not a jigsaw puzzle that you people like you have the ability/imagination to figure out.

Why don't you collect all the verses with the number Twelve in them. Then tell me what is their purpose and meaning and place in the Surah. And why God picked those words. Also, discuss complimentary Surahs and how that verse that compliments the complimentary Surah.

I'm sorry Farid, we both have same capability to realize these teachings and what God is saying. You rather use your intellect in analyzing words of scholars and their interpretations of hadiths, and you are good at bringing themes together therein, but Quran you want it to be very simple.

You will exercise far reaching analysis for ilmel rijaal and think the proof of the path all lies in your analysis of that and your scholars analysis of how the Sunnah was peserved and your view of history, but the cure lies in Quran and Ahlulbayt manifest the wonders of Quran.

Learn to listen to their words and Quran will become a healing not only to you, but you can help other humans of different faiths to see God's constant way.

يَا قَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْأَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ {21}
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوْمًا جَبَّارِينَ وَإِنَّا لَنْ نَدْخُلَهَا حَتَّىٰ يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ يَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا فَإِنَّا دَاخِلُونَ {22}
قَالَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا ادْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمُوهُ فَإِنَّكُمْ غَالِبُونَ ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ {23}
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّا لَنْ نَدْخُلَهَا أَبَدًا مَا دَامُوا فِيهَا ۖ فَاذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ {24}
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ إِلَّا نَفْسِي وَأَخِي ۖ فَافْرُقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ {25}
قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ۛ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً ۛ يَتِيهُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ {26}
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ابْنَيْ آدَمَ بِالْحَقِّ إِذْ قَرَّبَا قُرْبَانًا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِمَا وَلَمْ يُتَقَبَّلْ مِنَ الْآخَرِ قَالَ لَأَقْتُلَنَّكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ {27}

وَاخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِمِيقَاتِنَا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَإِيَّايَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَّا ۖ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ {155}
وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ۖ وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ۚ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ {156}
الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالْأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ {157}
قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ {158}
وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُونَ {159}
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ إِذِ اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ {160}
وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ اسْكُنُوا هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ وَادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيئَاتِكُمْ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ {161}
فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ {162}
وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ {163}
وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ {164}
فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ {165}
فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ {166}
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ {167}
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ {168}
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الْكِتَابَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا الْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِنْ يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِثْلُهُ يَأْخُذُوهُ ۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِيثَاقُ الْكِتَابِ أَنْ لَا يَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا مَا فِيهِ ۗ وَالدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ {169}
وَالَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ {170}
وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ {171}

وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ابْنُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللَّهِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ قَوْلُهُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ ۖ يُضَاهِئُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ {30}

هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ {33}
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْأَحْبَارِ وَالرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ {34}
يَوْمَ يُحْمَىٰ عَلَيْهَا فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَىٰ بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنُوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ {35}
إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ ۚ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ۚ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّةً ۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ {36}
إِنَّمَا النَّسِيءُ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْكُفْرِ ۖ يُضَلُّ بِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُحِلُّونَهُ عَامًا وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُ عَامًا لِيُوَاطِئُوا عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فَيُحِلُّوا مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ ۚ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ أَعْمَالِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ {37}
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ۚ أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ {38}

And let us not forget, aside from the number Twelve, the clear context of Ulil-Amr before and after:

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَىٰ هَٰؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا {41}
يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَعَصَوُا الرَّسُولَ لَوْ تُسَوَّىٰ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضُ وَلَا يَكْتُمُونَ اللَّهَ حَدِيثًا {42}
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُوا ۚ وَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضَىٰ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ أَوْ لَامَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا مَاءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا {43}
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يَشْتَرُونَ الضَّلَالَةَ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَضِلُّوا السَّبِيلَ {44}
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِأَعْدَائِكُمْ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ نَصِيرًا {45}
مِنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُوا يُحَرِّفُونَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَوَاضِعِهِ وَيَقُولُونَ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَاسْمَعْ غَيْرَ مُسْمَعٍ وَرَاعِنَا لَيًّا بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ وَطَعْنًا فِي الدِّينِ ۚ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَاسْمَعْ وَانْظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وَأَقْوَمَ وَلَٰكِنْ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا {46}
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ آمِنُوا بِمَا نَزَّلْنَا مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا مَعَكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ نَطْمِسَ وُجُوهًا فَنَرُدَّهَا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِهَا أَوْ نَلْعَنَهُمْ كَمَا لَعَنَّا أَصْحَابَ السَّبْتِ ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ مَفْعُولًا {47}
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدِ افْتَرَىٰ إِثْمًا عَظِيمًا {48}
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يُزَكُّونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ ۚ بَلِ اللَّهُ يُزَكِّي مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا {49}
انْظُرْ كَيْفَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ ۖ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِ إِثْمًا مُبِينًا {50}
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْجِبْتِ وَالطَّاغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَهْدَىٰ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا سَبِيلًا {51}
أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ وَمَنْ يَلْعَنِ اللَّهُ فَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُ نَصِيرًا {52}
أَمْ لَهُمْ نَصِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ فَإِذًا لَا يُؤْتُونَ النَّاسَ نَقِيرًا {53}
أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَىٰ مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۖ فَقَدْ آتَيْنَا آلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ مُلْكًا عَظِيمًا {54}
فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ صَدَّ عَنْهُ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِجَهَنَّمَ سَعِيرًا {55}
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُمْ بَدَّلْنَاهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا {56}
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ لَهُمْ فِيهَا أَزْوَاجٌ مُطَهَّرَةٌ ۖ وَنُدْخِلُهُمْ ظِلًّا ظَلِيلًا {57}
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمْتُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ أَنْ تَحْكُمُوا بِالْعَدْلِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُمْ بِهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا {58}
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ ۖ فَإِنْ تَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا {59}
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَتَحَاكَمُوا إِلَى الطَّاغُوتِ وَقَدْ أُمِرُوا أَنْ يَكْفُرُوا بِهِ وَيُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُمْ ضَلَالًا بَعِيدًا {60}
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْكَ صُدُودًا {61}

And specific reminders of family of Mohammad:

مَا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ كَيْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةً بَيْنَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ مِنْكُمْ ۚ وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ {7}

وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ آمَنْتُمْ بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا يَوْمَ الْفُرْقَانِ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ {41}

ذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ۗ قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَىٰ ۗ وَمَنْ يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَزِدْ لَهُ فِيهَا حُسْنًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ {23}

And not to forget the general theme of chosen families in Quran:

وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ آيَةَ مُلْكِهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكُمُ التَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَبَقِيَّةٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ آلُ مُوسَىٰ وَآلُ هَارُونَ تَحْمِلُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ {248}

So many more references and allusions to chosen family and chosen offspring!

Let's start with this. Where is the evidence that the Imams are twelve here?

Let's start with this. Where is the evidence that the Imams are twelve here?

Given the theme of Imamate, Caliphate, and Kingship/Authority, in the Surah, and given similar lines in suratal Araaf, and through out Quran, it's easily seen to be that the door of prostration is emphasis that they should of obeyed their Prophets and Messengers. In Suratal Sajda, these Prophets are emphasized to Imams who guide by God's command.  Keeping in mind the door of prostration and how it emphasized there that only those believe who when they remember God's Ayat fall prostrate.

There are two choices we can make regarding twelve springs. Remember the covenant, elsewhere, and how it was emphasized to obey Prophets in all this and believe in God's Ayat, or we can ignore the flow, the context, and also make it insignificant. To be something like yeah there are twelve tribes and God gave them all water when they were thirsty and it has no meaning beyond any of that.

The truth is we see elsewhere, instead of "twelve rivers", we see emphasis on covenant of Bani-Israel but with 12 Captains.

Now we see there is a significance to the 12 Captains, with the covenant, to the extent God is reminding us and them, he caused 12 springs to gush out. In Suratal A'araaf this emphasized after it talks about a people who guide by the truth from the people of Moses.

Here in Suratal Baqara this has a place with Adam's Caliphate, Abraham's Imamate, Talut and Dawood's Kingship and kingdoms.

We see in Suratal Nisaa similar emphasis on the covenant of Bani-Israel (without number twelve, but similar emphasis on them), but after the discussion of Ulil-Amr

To me it's obvious if we keep in mind the talk of false authorities in Bani-Israel, this is saying, they had chosen sources of knowledge and wisdom, and light, and truth, and who would of lead them to the truth and guided them by it.

But they had to acknowledge and come to them thirsty and not mix their Wilayah with others.

The Suratal Baqara also begins in that God is not ashamed of throwing any parable.

If you collect all the verses of the covenant of Bani-Israel, you will see they emphasize on one another.  The emphasis of the door of prostration to me is obviously about submitting to the authority of his chosen ones (ie. the Prophets).

The twelve springs then to me also is about that in the covenant, and signifies they are twelve.

The emphasis of twelve to us would meaningless if this number was random, and Ulil-Amr were not twelve.

I am asking simple and clear questions and I am hoping for answers that are equally as clear.

Do you believe that your interpretation that the twelve springs signify the Twelve Imams is one that is understood through this verse alone? Or does it need to be placed with other verses that also include the number twelve for one to reach that conclusion?

Link, you are one disturbed individual. You remind me of what Shaikh Hussein al-Mu'ayyid, the Ex-Shia scholar constantly says on his live shows:

Rafidism is based on Mutashabihat (ambigious texts), none of your major beliefs can be proven with ANY clear cut text, neither from the Qur'an nor from the Sunnah, hence you lot play the riddler or think that Allah played riddler games with us, hiding numbers between verses etc. yet he made clear who He Himself  and his Messenger are (and even who a dozens of other Prophets are without ANY ambiguity). Here some more esoterical numerical truths for you:

- One of the 12th disciples of Jesus was a traitor, a Dajjaal, just like you ... yes, you guess it right, just like the monster and sadistic future murderer the 12th cellar dwelling one.

- The 12 tribes of Israel, they ended up worshipping idols, just like you Rafidah today.

- (My favourite one): أبو بكرالصديق <---- َAbu Bakr as-Siddiq (IN ARABIC) has exactly 12 letters! Salavat! He's the Imam!

Understood by who? Rasool would understand it first time in it's context and know it's significant without the other verses with twelve.

We can understand it by context. However the verses that all talk about the covenant help make it clear to everyone if they reflect over them all. Of course what is clear to a person and what degree of reflection with other verses is necessary all depends on the mind and heart.

I strongly disagree. One can only understand it in the way you did with the preconception that the number twelve refers to the Imams.

I believe that Allah is just and would not punish people for failing to solve this puzzle.

However, since you disagree and believe that any person could understand it the way you did, I propose a little test. Print out some copies of the verses in question along with the context and run up to any random non-Muslim on the street. Tell them that you are working on some research and that you'd like a couple of minutes of their time. Present them with these verses and without explaining anything to them see if they arrive at your conclusion.

Tell them that you are working on some research and that you'd like a couple of minutes of their time. Present them with these verses and without explaining anything to them see if they arrive at your conclusion.

There are some verses which are associated with others, and will become clear in purpose, if one understands the importance of the others.

One has to understand God's style in Quran with regards to Bani-Israel, what other verses have said about that, for example, in Suratal Noor, when it says God has given a description of those before us, and admonishment to us, before it describes the parable of light.

I however did do this, with the verses before and leading up to the Ulil-Amr including the Ulil-Amr verse. I've asked non-Muslims what they think about them, does it give clear impression those who hold authority are meant religious divine authority and are appointed by God or do you think it can mean rulers or religious scholars not appointed by God.

A Christian told me he clearly sees that it must mean those who are chosen by God and that is the clear context.

However, I know aside from this, is that Shayateen try to make people recite the Quran heedlessly.

A non-Muslim doesn't understand the admonishing nature of Quran, that no words are picked that are not important, but as Quran says they are picked things about Messengers that are of most significance and best for us as admonishment, and it's the best words picked for us.

Naturally Quran says anyone who fears God will enter paradise, and much of Quran is trying to get people to gain the wisdom of fearing God.

It tries to awaken people with how Iblis thought of himself as a sincere worshiper of God but when tested with Adam, failed to show sincerity to God.

It tries to warn that many Jews thought they were righteous through following and imitating scholars, but loved their scholars to the extent they disobeyed God and his Messengers. That love is love towards their identity and stems from that, and it was not out of sincere devotion to God.

If people understand the negation of authority of scholars in Quran, and how much Surahs have been devoted to that, teaching rather all people are commanded to be religious scholars who have zuhd of dunya and teach knowledge and wisdom to others, and there shouldn't be a class system or elite few who take this responsibility, lest those who find a truth cannot express it due to people holding on to a class of society instead of making the affair of religion consultation between ourselves and sincere devotion to judging by what God revealed...

If you understand how important it is not to blindly follow scholars....

If you understand that God appointed guides who guide to the truth among bani-Israel, and that they had a rope from God and rope from humanity combined as the rope of God, if you understand that God made the path of submission easy but just requires some sincerity on our part.

Then Quran talk of the past, becomes talk of the present, and you begin to learn how God speaks.

When it says "so they became deaf and blind....", you will understand how it pertains to this umma.

When you look at the various paraphrasing in Quran of Harun's position and Musa's prayer and read Suratal Inshirah, you know Ali is being said to be the name of God.

When you read the various paraphrasing of the covenant, you will understand the significance of all and each verse pertaining to it.

No verse in Quran is to be belittled.  Anything that is unclear is either to shortcoming on our part or Seher from Shayateen.

Otherwise Quran clarifies itself.

We know the wage verse 42:23 is unclear to you as well, and we know anything about Imams or chosen ones after Mohammad is going to be unclear to you.

You are bent on using blindness of others or yourself as proof of Quranic verses being unclear.

But one thing I assure, when humanity is raised up on the day of judgment, it is then they will know how clear Quran was all the time. It was then they know how they belittled God's communications and were unjust to his verses and guidance.

They will know how clear it proved God and his Oneness, they will know how clearly it proved God's Prophets and the position of the family of Mohammad.

None of this will they blame on God not making it clear enough, but will blame themselves. They will know they were vehement on denial out of injustice and purposely turned their ears away from the truth and blinded themselves purposely to clear words and clear proofs.

Good. Now do it again with the verse in Al Baqara that you quoted earlier. We are eagerly awaiting your results.

Good. Now do it again with the verse in Al Baqara that you quoted earlier. We are eagerly awaiting your results.

Edit: If you'd like, I can ask some Shias if these verses are referring to the Imams just to show you how delusional you are. No offense.

Ok I will ask the following questions:

1. If this was a revelation from God, what do you think the significance of 12 Captains and Twelve rivers are and why did God say it out of infinite words of reminding all of humanity?

2. Do you think if Ulil-Amr in verse 4:59 are definitely divinely chosen leaders, and that the family of Mohammad are those meant by the recompense verse 42:23 and the recompense is reminded through out Quran and that this was a certainty from Quran, that these verses about twelve would be guidance to humanity regarding who are the leaders of guidance from the family of Mohammad and provide guidance to their number?

3. If much of Quran was negating the authority of scholars saying when they are taken as authorities they are often worshipped to the extent that they are obeyed instead of God which means they are valued as much as God or more then God, and given that through out Quran the religion of God is submission to God via his revelations and leaders who he commands obedience to and who guide by is command, and given we know God gave parables in dreams of Joseph and it referred to his brothers and father, that when Quran says "Twelve months, four of them being sacred" is the upright religion, that literal months in themselves cannot be the upright religion, but rather, that this is somehow a parable to the true religion, and IF the Ulil-Amr are Imams of guidance and the Qurba are the family of Mohammad in verse 42:23, and hence are the way in 25:57, and we similar emphasis on not take scholars as the object of worship in Suratal Auli-Imran with emphasis on chosen families and chosen ones and the rope of God, and we see emphasis on the Jibt and Taghut with respect to the false authority of scholars envying the family of Mohammad in Suratal Nisaa then emphasis on those who hold authority from this nation, and we see similar theme in negating taking Christians and Jews as authorities in Suratal Maeeda and not take their judgement of religion and passing of religion as authoritive, but rather, that only God and his MEssenger and third category of believers represented by Ali when he gave zaka in ruku are our Master,  and given the talk of twelve else where in negation the false leadership of bani-Israel and emphasizing on the true chosen leaders of humanity through out time in bani-ISrael and before that, that doesn't it make sense here it naturally has similar flow and is referring to the Imams who guide by his command and who God and his Messenger command obedience to just as Moses commanded and emphasized on obedience to the Leaders who guide by God's command from his nation.

I will say it like that, because, Quran is not to be read in isolation, and similar verses and similar flow is suppose to interpret one another.

Surahs all play complimentary roles to other Surahs, which play complimentary roles to other Surahs, and there is link between them.

And so the "the number of months with God are twelve..." will emphasise with the verses before saying indeed all these false leaders who take representing the original revelation and message, and are taken as gate keepers to God and his revelations, are all false, and in this nation, there is but twelve representatives of God and his Messenger....that the year of the Mohammadiya Ahmadiya revelation and his way, is but twelve months, four of them being sacred, that is the upright religion", of course, it refers to literal months, but when it says "that is the upright religion" and in connection to the talk before, it certainly is making a parable to the Mohammadiya covenant.

You questions are suggesting answers. Print two or three verses (with context) that include the number twelve, then just hand it out to some random non-Muslim. Ask them what they make of these verses. If they don't even notice the number twelve is being repeated then you bringing it up would defeat the very purpose of the test.

Can I say what do each of these verses have to would have to do with the submitting to God for humans today if it was from God?

Or is that too suggestive for you as well?

Or can I post verses warning against following religious leaders in general, and in contrast, talks about his chosen ones and the need to follow and obey them....

Because if you can't spot the pattern by now....negation of false authority with affirmation of God's authority vested in his chosen ones....you truly can't understand a word of Quran.

You haven't understood anything of it's warnings, of it's admonishment, of the way of submitting to God.

Try swapping the verse of twelve months with verse 5:55 or verse 4:59.  If you cannot see the same contrast, the same contrast in these places, and the similar emphasis....let me know. Or try putting verse 42:23 in where the 12 months verse is, or where 4:59 is or 5:55 is, of course it won't rhyme or anything, but you will see that all these Surahs are emphasizing on the same thing.

And other Surahs trying swapping "Imams who guide by our command", with "people who guide by the truth".

Or Imam for "way/course" (ummatan) or "umatan" for Imam in other places.

Try it, maybe you will see something, who knows?

If you want this to sincerely be a test, you need to make it as fair as possible. You made the claim that anyone should be able to come to this conclusion.

With that said, even claiming that the verses are linked with one another provides a suggestion, since the average Muslim reading the Qur'an does not make this assumption.

Try quoting the verses with a context and presenting it to them, without suggesting that they are linked. Simply ask: What are the lessons learned from these verses?

Btw: You still haven't answered my question in the other thread.

Do you want me to bring Shias that will clearly tell you that your interpretations are false?

Ok you can bring Shias that will say so, and I will try to reason with them.

Two questions:

The number 12 is significant or insignificant in your view?
What purpose does it serve with respect to the Surah and Quran to mention the number?

Yes his posts to resemble a very 'esoteric Ismaili' kind of interpretation.

Two questions:

This is not meant as a mockery, I just want to see what your modus operandi is. Is the number three of any significance to you? Why is the number three explicitly mentioned in the following verses?

Quote
هنالك دعا زكريا ربه قال رب هب لي من لدنك ذرية طيبة إنك سميع الدعاء
Sahih International
At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

فنادته الملائكة وهو قائم يصلي في المحراب أن الله يبشرك بيحيى مصدقا بكلمة من الله وسيدا وحصورا ونبيّا من الصالحين
Sahih International
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."

قال رب أنى يكون لي غلام وقد بلغني الكبر وامرأتي عاقر قال كذلك الله يفعل ما يشاء
Sahih International
He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" The angel said, "Such is Allah ; He does what He wills."

قال رب اجعل لي آية قال آيتك ألا تكلم الناس ثلاثة أيام إلا رمزا واذكر ربك كثيرا وسبح بالعشي والإبكار
Sahih International
He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning."

Quote
ويا قوم هذه ناقة الله لكم آية فذروها تأكل في أرض الله ولا تمسوها بسوء فيأخذكم عذاب قريب
Sahih International
And O my people, this is the she-camel of Allah - [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allah 's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment."

فعقروها فقال تمتعوا في داركم ثلاثة أيام ذلك وعد غير مكذوب
Sahih International
But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied."

Quote
Sahih International
He created you from one soul. Then He made from it its mate, and He produced for you from the grazing livestock eight mates. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah , your Lord; to Him belongs dominion. There is no deity except Him, so how are you averted?

Quote

Sahih International

فأصحاب الميمنة ما أصحاب الميمنة

Quote

Sahih International
[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

انطلقوا إلى ظلّ ذي ثلاث شعب
Sahih International
Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns

Perhaps even these verses have something to do with it:
Quote
Sahih International
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Quote
Sahih International
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

Quote
لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله ثالث ثلاثة وما من إله إلا إله واحد وإن لم ينتهوا عما يقولون ليمسن الذين كفروا منهم عذاب أليم
Sahih International
They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

Quote
Sahih International
Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oaths. So its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it] - then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be grateful.

Quote
لقد تاب الله على النبي والمهاجرين والأنصار الذين اتبعوه في ساعة العسرة من بعد ما كاد يزيغ قلوب فريق منهم ثم تاب عليهم إنه بهم رءوف رحيم
Sahih International
Allah has already forgiven the Prophet and the Muhajireen and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of difficulty after the hearts of a party of them had almost inclined [to doubt], and then He forgave them. Indeed, He was to them Kind and Merciful.

Sahih International
And [He also forgave] the three who were left behind [and regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness and their souls confined them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Quote
Sahih International
O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayer. [These are] three times of privacy for you. There is no blame upon you nor upon them beyond these [periods], for they continually circulate among you - some of you, among others. Thus does Allah make clear to you the verses; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Some of those verses obviously don't have symbolic meaning, but some of them do.

The number 3 and 7 are both important in Shariah and Quran.

The journey with God and to God can be simplified in three stages:

1. Recognizing light/God's Name with some scent, some sight, some hearing. This is symbolized by "star" in the darkness/night.

2. It growing in light to a significant illumination (moon stage)

3. The night is over, and the Sun is apparent.

The number 40 also has a sacred meaning, in that, 40 lights were shown to the Nabi in Miraaj at a certain stage, from whence the outward colours come from.

The 7 also has a meaning in that there is 7 veils, and descent of blessings and ascent of actions correspond to one of these heavens.

However all these verses have their places.

For example before Salah, it's mustahab to do 7 takbeer. And at the end it's mustahab to do 3 takbeer after Salah is over.

We can say numbers are sacred but we have to put them in their place.

The number 10 has to do with spiritual wealth and our actions, we count money with that, and God also made it the minimum multiplication of good deeds, good deeds always get rewards 10 times the like.

So this is significant with the 10 nights in Ramadan, and we remember what truly has value/worth (the night of Qadr).

2 is also important, in that it signifies opposite, light and darkness, but aside from good and evil, beauty and ugliness, and positive and negative, is that positives/praises are also created in pairs with polar opposites and lantents.

Four is also important for other reasons but it signifies essential aspects of humanity being shifted towards God.

But all these have their place.

The place of twelve and the covenant of Bani-Israel, is important, and it is important as well in that although God talked about past nations, he put magnifying glass on bani-Israel to show his way with the past and present.

And knowing the number that God picked for the chosen families and successors of founding Prophets is of vital importance for this nation as it was vital for each nation.

And it's emphasized in the right place with the subject of divine leadership and guidance.

By the name of God is it's sailing and achoring....and we raised from them twelve Captains.

And when it comes to the Taghut, then the number 9 is important, because it is in reality a 9 headed dragon.

I understand, but how do you derive that from the quoted verses? Show your argumentation as you showed for the twelve leaders.

Also, do you think someone who doesn't believe in those three stages and doesn't see this truth would his entire faith and actions be in vain?
Title: Re: Imamah: Even the reasoning of their Imams is flawed and shallow!

Also, do you think someone who doesn't believe in those three stages and doesn't see this truth would his entire faith and actions be in vain?

It depends if he is aware or not. People who reject the journey to God for example, and many people do, are people deceiving themselves about their belief in God.

People who approach the Quran with no want to understand the inner meanings of the Shariah will probably go to the Quran to confirm their desires and not seek the truth.

The book of God is primarily a book dealing with traveling to God. God has given all sorts of parables in there, and has made parallels to them in the Shariah for a purpose.

If a person becomes aware of the emphasis of 7 with the 7 veils or 7 heavens or 6 days and 7th being that of God's establishment on the throne, and yet doesn't put significance to 7 takbeers before Salah with any of that after hearing Imams emphasize on that,  they are not allowed to out of desires.

Like wise if a person wishes to dissociate water in wudoo with light of God and any symbolic meaning with respect to the nature of God's Names and humanity, even after becoming aware of the inward dimension, it can be said he hates the mystic link with God that humanity has.

All this cannot be explained except with love of Dunya. Love of Dunya is what causes people to reject knowledge of a higher type.

Also to downplay anything of the Quran, any verse, anything it says, is unacceptable.   This is not only out of love of Dunya, but is sheer disbelief, even if a person is unaware of it.

This is because God chose out of infinite words these words. These words are all careful part of a design of a book where each Surah plays a vital role, and where every verse is significant beyond our appreciation.

It's upon us to look into a verse as a treasure box and try to find what we can open up with it.

Not down grade it. Often a person down grades a hadith or a verse, and he becomes far away from the door of light and path to God though he doesn't perceive. He thinks he has faith in God and the last day, but deceives himself.
