Khomeini meets Imam Mahdi (aj)

I was going over 'Various scandalous and corrupt beliefs of Twelver Shias' when I noticed this hadith:
There will come to my devotees those who will claim seeing (me). Verily, whosoever claims the seeing before the rising of al-Sofiany and the Cry, is a liar and a forger; and there is no power except with Almighty Allah. (al Ehtejaj Ch.2, P.478)

Years ago I read an article on the revolution. People were complaining about inflation, and Khomeini said I understand food prices were going up, but don't worry the Mahdi will come soon and everything will be restored.
