al-Salamu `Aleykum,
In this clip you'll see a Lebanese Shia scholar complaining about all the Ghuluw his followers and the Shia generally attribute to their Imam `Ali, all the stories of miracles and super powers they ascribe to `Ali, he says at the end of the clip:
"If `Ali can do all of this then where is Allah? The Qur'an says it is only Allah who does these things, unless you people don't believe in this book. Maybe you believe that the Qur'an is corrupted!?"

What a ridiculous statement.
You know the story from the Quran where Allah mentions about King Soloman (as) and the throne of Queen Bilqees???
Remember the Jeenie who claims that he will bring the throne right before King Soloman (as) at such miraculous speed but a chap moves forward from the crowd and claims he will bring it faster than the blink of an eye.
What does Allah say about this man???
"We gave him only a bit of knowledge from the book".
Brother there are others whom Allah has granted such authority and powers.
The stories related to Ali (as) can be discussed on the basis of how true they are. But to say that this is impossible or Guluw or humans can't do as such and this is only connected to Allah is absolutely ridiculous.

You should tell that to your Lebanese Shaykh, since he's complaining about stories like that `Ali held the ship of Nuh from drowning and saved Yunus from the belly of the whale and other odd Shia stories.
