السلام علیکم
Have a blessed day brothers in islam..
okay, is it true that Umayya Bin Abd-Shams (Progenitor of the line of Umayyad Caliphs such as Muawiyah, Yazid, Umar bin Abd-al-Aziz) wasn't a legitimate son of Abd-Shams but He was adopted by Abd-Shams..? Any brief history on his line?

Any backup for your claim?

Al-Kalbi was the first to claim that with no evidence. No one before him had ever claimed such a thing nor did other historians of his time.Shia's accepted it from him in a bid to claim Ummayads had no right to khilafa.
The story hardly makes sense anyways? Lineage was everything for Quraysh, they would never let Banu Ummaya rise to such a prominent and powerful position they had if they weren't even legitimate qurashi.
Keep in mind, Al-Kalbi is the originator of other nonsensical and fabricated claims like Umar's lineage being incestuous or Amr ibn Al-As being a bastard half-brother of Muawiyah...
