Was the Succession of the Prophets Always by Close Kin?

Ignorant Shiites often like to boast about how the Prophets were succeeded by close kin. They will often bring up the Hadith of Manzilah and the succession of Prophets like Dawud or Zakariyah. But however what Shiites love to ignore is that Harun was not Moses' successor and in fact his actual successor was Yusha ibn Nun (Radiy Allahu Anhu) and Yusha ibn Nun was not of close kin. Yusha ibn Nun was from the Israelites but in the same way Abu Sufyan was from the Quraysh. The Israelites should be understood in the same way as the Quraysh is. The Israelites were actually a group of many different tribes and tribes within tribes. For example Yusha was from the tribe of Ephraim and Musa was from the tribe of Levi. Now parallels are often drawn between Musa (Alayh as-Salam) and Muhammad (Sall Allahu Alayhi wa Salim) so wouldn't it be more fulfilling of the various biblical prophesies that we believe point to Muhammad (Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Salim) if he was succeeded by someone who was of his people rather than his family?

Let's also point out that prophets Dawud and Sulayman were of the lineage of Judah which was a completely different tribe to Musa's and we do not even know Elijah's lineage.
