Title: Who is the bald, pot bellied man?
Post by: Kalaam on November 09, 2016, 09:20:23 PM
Recently, I once again came across a Shia allegation regarding Hadhrat Muawiyah (r.a) that he had a big belly. I was surprised that Shias also use this argument to defame Muawiyah (r.a), whereas one of their eminent scholars 'Taqi ud Deen al-Halabi' wrote a book titled الدرر الثمین فی اسرار الانزع البطین

The literal meaning of this book is
'Precious pearls regarding the Secrets of the bald and the pot-bellied man'

The Shia translator of Kitab al-Ghayba, Abdullah Shaheen has translated  الانزع البطین as "the bald, potbellied man", and in the notes the name of Imam Ali (r.a) is mentioned.

How strange is it that their own Imam was bald and potbellied, and they have the courage to make fun of others.
