Title: Is Zubair ibn Awam (RA) not apart of Ahlul Bhayt
Post by: Optimus Prime on October 04, 2015, 03:09:40 AM
Considering his mother Safiya (RA) was the half sister of the Prophet's (SAW) father.

He's also a descendant of Abdul Mutalib.

The term Ahlul-Bayt is one that refers mainly to those who live in your house especially the wives, but people used it a bit more loosely to refer to other relatives. The strong opinion is that Ahlul-Bayt are the Prophet's (saw) paternal relatives, and the descendants of his paternal-uncles.

Zubair is a paternal releative just like Ali (RA), Ja'far (RA), Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA) and Aqeel (RA).

The only difference it was his mother that's blood related to Abdul Mutalib instead of his father.
