Were All Companions Just?
« on: February 18, 2016, 11:50:53 PM »
Imam Taftazani writes:

and then in another book:

Very interesting view.

Seems like he rejects adalat al sahaba, except for the famous one, if they were not known to do bad things.

Basically bro, he says there's two views about what a companion is.

1- That a companion is a man who accompanied the Prophet (saw) constantly for a long time.

2- A companion is anyone who met the Prophet (saw), believed in him and died Muslim.

Scholars of Hadith pick the second definition, scholars of Fiqh and Usoul and whatnot seem to go for the first. So he's saying that some folks did injustice against the prophetic-household and they are sinners who will be punished, he doesn't believe their innocence.

Religion = simple & clear

You're making it sound like all scholars of fiqh and usool choose the first. This is not accurate.

The majority of all Muslim scholars choose the second view.
