Title: When did Abu Hurayra become Muslim?

Salam,

Is there a difference of opinion on when Abu Hurayra became Muslim? Most of the articles I have read online, say that Abu Hurayra embraced Islam three years before the Prophet died. However, one article I have found which relies on a source called al-Munjid fi al-lughah wa-al-aʻlam, which says Abu Hurayra was a relatively early convert and spent a long time with the Prophet.

Wa alaykum alsalam,

It is generally accepted that he became a Muslim at around the time of Khaybar. Any specific evidence that mentions otherwise? Would you mind providing evidence from the source that you mentioned?
