It's related to avoiding religious debates about other groups/ subjects which have no benefit for sunni shia discussion I think.

Enough other forums where you can debate Ashari, salafi, sufi, tasawuf, madhab (which aren't related to sunni shia discussion).

But entertaining threads or media should be tolerated.

I disagree. I believe all discussions should be welcomed, and that particular forum suggests that is the case. I'd be nice to have that point clarified.
