Title: Video recommendation for The Sunni Defence
Post by: Adil on June 19, 2019, 05:00:03 PM
Asalaamualaykum

It may benefit you to do a video about the Iranian regime's relationship with Pakistan.

Show it's double standards in how it :

1. Went on an anti-Pakistan tirade at a time when war between India & Pakistan could've happened.

2. It trains Pakistani shias to become assassins (target killers) and sends them back to Pakistan to create havoc.

3. Allegedly the assassination attempt on Mufti Taqi Usmani was done by these target killer shias.

4. Recruits Pakistani shias for shia terrorist militias in the middle east (and the problems this creates in Pakistan e.g. backlash, sectarian strife).

5. Teams up with India to undermine Pakistan through Chabahar port.

6. Could also talk about Pakistani shia priests who openly support Pakistani shias going to fight in Syria.

Imagine hoisting up Pakistan flags and claiming unity, yet continuously undermining a Muslim neighbour who has tried to remain neutral in the Saudi-Iran struggle. Some Pakistani sunnis buy into their rubbish, it's about time it was exposed.

Shia target killers arrested in Pakistan, reportedly trained in Iran by IRGC -

https://twitter.com/Office_AQPk/status/1125894710768406528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1125894710768406528&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2Ftwitter.min.html%231125894710768406528

Police press conference on the issue, the conference only mentioned sectarian killings being done by people who have been trained by a neighbouring country by that country's national guards, they didn't name a country but they said it was shia youth who were involved. So it's pretty obvious which country it is. If it was someone like India, it would've named straight out. Can't be China since they aren't Muslim. Afghanis are mostly sunni with some shia but it would be strange for them to train sectarian killers. That leaves the saffavid wannabe empire called Iran who ticks all boxes.

The man who tried to kill Mufti Taqi Usmani worked as a translator for the Iranian consul general in Pakistan. Mufti Taqi Usmani is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sunni scholar in Pakistan

I mention Iran hoisting up Pakistan flags and claiming unity etc... This is what I meant:

https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/355102-pictures-iran-celebrates-pakistans-independence-day-on-unprecedented-scale

The regime goes out of it's way to promote a facade of brotherhood between pakistan and iran. It "celebrates" pakistan's independence by putting up banners for it in iran. Shame the brotherhood hasn't prevented them sending us sectarian target killers and recruiting our shia for it's terrorist militias.

This is of course just another political show but unfortunately many Pakistanis have fallen for it in the past.

Sadeq Ganji (died 1990) was the Iranian Consul General to Pakistan, and director of the Iran-Pakistan Cultural Center. Ganji was killed by suspected Sunni militants in 1990 in Lahore Pakistan.

LAHORE: Although the history of deadly sectarian violence in Pakistan had started with the June 6, 1963 incident at Sindh’s Khairpur district, where at least 116 participants of a Moharram procession were killed, innumerable leaders and activists hailing from both Sunni and Shia sects have met unnatural deaths especially during the last 25 years or so.
Gunned down in Karachi on Thursday, noted religious scholar, Allama Taqi Hadi Naqvi, is just the latest addition to the long list of clerics who have fallen victims to targeted sectarian killings till date.

Before we proceed with the dates and names of clerics killed so far, it must be added that a few lucky ones including the likes of JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former PPP Federal Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi etc have managed to live on by defeating death. Here follows the list of some of the major incidents that have claimed the lives of prominent Shia and Sunni leaders/known activists during the last quarter of a century:

On December 19, 1990, Sadiq Ganji, the sitting Director General of Iranian Cultural Centre was shot dead in Lahore.
On March 7, 1995, Dr. Muhammad Ali Naqvi, a founder president of Imamia Student Organization, was killed.
On June 15, 1996, noted Shia leader and poet, Mohsin Naqvi, was killed in Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Town.

On February 20, 1997, an attack on Multan’s Iranian Cultural Centre had killed Director Agha Mohammed Ali Rahimi.
On August 5, 1998, the then Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan Chief, Arif Hussain Al Hussaini, was killed in Peshawar. After having prayed at a local mosque, he was confronted by two gunmen and shot.
On April 12, 2000, an attack on a Shia Majlis in Shia leader Sajid Naqvi’s hometown had killed many of his blood relatives.

On July 26, 2001, Managing Director Pakistan State Oil, Shaukat Raza Mirza, was killed in a targeted killing incident in Karachi. Mirza was a Shia.
On July 30, 2001, Syed Zafar Hussain, Director Research and Development in the Ministry of Defence, was also killed in a targeted killing incident in Karachi.
On October 10, 2001, the Sindh Karachi Sindh Board of Technical Education Chairman, Syed Hassan Zaidi, was gunned down in Karachi too.

On December 21, 2001, Ehteshamuddin Haider (the elder brother of former Sindh Governor and an ex- Pakistani Interior Minister Lt. Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider), was shot dead by assailants near Soldier Bazaar in Karachi. On March 4, 2002, one of the country’s most well-renowned nephrologists, Dr. Alay Safdar Zaidi, was assassinated in Karachi.

On May 7, 2002, noted religious scholar and television personality Professor Dr Ghulam Murtaza Malik was shot dead by two gunmen in Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Town. His driver and a policeman had also perished in this attack. On August 30, 2012, a Shia Sessions Judge, Zulfiqar Naqvi, was killed in Quetta.

The April 2006 bombing at Karachi’s Nishtar Park had also claimed the lives of many Sunni scholars commemorating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
On July 14, 2006, Allama Hassan Turabi, a Shia religious scholar and chief of Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan, was killed in a suicide attack near his Abbas Town residence. The cleric’s 12-year-old nephew had also lost life in this incident. The suicide bomber was later identified as Abdul Karim, a Bangladeshi, resident of a shanty town in the central city area of Karachi.

On September 15, 2007, unidentified assailants assassinated a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Hassan Jan in Peshawar. Maulana Hassan was a former MNA and Vice Chairman of Wafaqul Madaris. The noted religious leader had also issued a decree (fatwa) against suicide attacks, and was among the Pakistani clerics who had travelled to Afghanistan in 2001 to convince Mullah Omar that he should expel Osama Bin Laden from Afghanistan to avoid American attacks.

On August 13, 2008, a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cleric Haji Namdar was killed. Haji was the leader of a banned local outfit “Amr Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anil Munkar.” Haji Namdar had earlier escaped a suicide attack on May 1, 2008. On January 10, 2009, a fierce gun battle between rival sects in Hangu had seen the killing of Mufti Rustam, the deputy chairman of the local chapter of the Ahli Sunnat Wal Jamaat. Official sources said that at least 26 people had lost lives in this incident.

On January 26, 2009, Hussain Ali Yousafi, chairman of the Hazara Democratic Party, was allegedly shot dead by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in Quetta. On February 19, 2009, a Shia leader Sher Zaman was gunned down in Dera Ismail Khan. Tension had then led to imposition of a curfew in the city and Army called in to quell the riots, which had actually sparked after a suicide bomber had killed at least 30 Shias and injured another 157 who were attending Sher Zaman’s funeral.

On June 12, 2009, a leading Sunni Barelvi scholar Sarfraz Ahmed Naeemi was assassinated at the Jamia Naeemia madrassa situated on Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Road in Garhi Shahu locality. Six mnore people were also killed in this suicide attack. Known for his anti-Taliban views, Sarfraz Ahmed Naeemi had been known all his life for his candid views.
On January 1, 2012, Askari Raza, leader of a Shia political organisation “Pasban-e-Jaferia,” had breathed his last in a sectarian-motivated target killing in Karachi by two armed men. He was critically injured on the New Year’s Eve. At least 15,000 Shia protestors had then staged a sit-in outside the Sindh Governor House on the first day of January to protest the assassination.

On September 26, 2012, Mohsin Anwar Kazim, a member of the Shia community, was gunned down outside his office in Quetta city. On November 6, 2012, Agha Aftab Haider Jaffari, a prominent Shia leader was shot dead in Quetta.
On January 1, 2013, Malik Mukhtar Hussain, a prominent licensed organizer of Shia processions and majalis in Chiniot, had breathed his last after he was gunned down in an Imambargah on December 31, 2012 by six armed men.

On January 9, 2013, Engineer Syed Ali Hyder Jafri, a 48-year-old shia activist and owner of a private school, was shot dead in North Karachi. Same day, yet another well-known Shia leader Dr. Riaz Hussain was gunned down in Parachinar. In Khuzdar, again on the same day, a Hazara Shia leader, Zawar Shah, was targeted lethally outside his shop.

On February 18, 2013, a prominent Professor of Vitreoretinal Surgery, Dr. Syed Ali Haider and his 11-year-old son, Murtaza, were shot dead, in Lahore. It is suspected that the attacks were carried out by the banned Sunni extremist group, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. On December 6, 2013, firing at Lahore’s Ravi Road had claimed life of an “Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat” leader Maulana Shams ur Rehman.

You want everyone else to comment on their own sects groups but you still have yet to condemn khamanei for being a tyrant in that other thread or the Iranians in this thread.

You start putting down shia terrorist groups & regimes first, and we'll reciprocate  :-\ 8) :) :D ;D ;)

Yet the Pakistani government and the armed forces help the Shias and protect them as well as many citizens of the nation, Pakistan government or leadership or armed forces don’t kill or send their forces to fight Shias ANYWHERE in the world unlike Iran which supports the bastard dog and sends militias to kill Sunnis in Iraq and Syria and elsewhere.

Stop being a biased individual you are SAFE in Pakistan as a shia the government will protect you.

Nothing of the same can be said for Iran because it feels so inferior that it uses sectarianism to kill.

Hypocrite!

Pakistan even has a shia dynasty which has been successful in politics (the bhuttos) lol. Iran doesn't even let sunnis have a mosque in Tehran, they'd never allow a sunni leading the country.

Whatever bad things happen to shia are normally the work of non government groups. The pak army happily recruits shia for it's armed forces (although I oppose this) and shia can participate in politics aswell.

Show me a Shia Mosque in Tehran.

What do you want them to do, avoid the democratic process and just pick a Sunni at random and put him in charge of the country just to please you. 😊

I've been trying to find another article in which an ISI (pakistani intelligence service) commented on this and said they have begun to come down on these shia terrorist groups (essentially what these target killers are) in Pakistan after the assassination attempt on Mufti Taqi Usmani and the same article quoted a pakistani shia priest who defended shia from pakistan going to syria to fight. Haven't been able to find it again but insha'Allah I will soon.

Found it. It was part of a bigger article which covered the  intelligence agency's forced disappearances of shias over the years. After the recent attacks, there was an uptick of forced disappearances of shia (due to the shia connected to this assassination being taken) and some of their families and the families of some of the people already taken in the past by the army decided to protest.

The key parts highlighting Iran's involvement are below:

Quote
“We were going after the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Jamaat-al-Ahrar but the attack on Maulana Taqi Usmani moved our attention to this group,” a counterterrorism official told Samaa Digital on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak with the media.

The counter-terrorism official said that they don’t know how many more people are active in Karachi with this group. “Even the boys, who are working with this group, don’t know about the other members,” he claimed. “They become active after they are given targets and then they slip away to Iran.”

In his May 6 press conference DIG Amir Farooqui had said that one of the suspects, Syed Imran Haider Zaidi, had visited a neighbouring country in 2015 and 2017 and received 25 days of “militancy training” twice under the supervision of their “national guards”. He said that Zaidi had tasked his group members to recruit media persons belonging to the Shia community and send them to the neighbouring country for training.

In another press conference, on April 15, the counter-terrorism department had said that it had arrested six sectarian target killers, including a police constable, suspected of ties to a neighbouring country.

Counter-Terrorism Department DIG Abdullah Sheikh had told reporters that the arrested men received financial help from a neighbouring country. “The arrested terrorists would hide in a neighboring Islamic country after killing people in Karachi on sectarian grounds,” Shaikh said. “They are highly qualified and are trained in a foreign country from where they would also get financial help.”

They belonged to the Tehrik-e-Jafaria Pakistan and Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan, Raja Umar Khattab, another CTD official said. Their names were not on the list of missing persons, a representative of the Shia missing person families added.

A security officer told Samaa Digital that the five arrested men (declared on May 6) had been in contact with “handlers” in Iran and their numbers had been traced. One of the numbers belonged to a non-local recruiter of the Zainebiyoun Brigade, he said.

The Liwa Zainebiyoun (People of Zainab Brigade) is a pro-Iran group that was formed to protect the shrine of Sayyidah Zainab (May Allah be pleased with her) in Syria in what is believed to be 2014 or 2015. “Around 800 to 2,500 Pakistani fighters are in the group,” according to Phillip Smyth, a Soref fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps recruits Pakistani Shias to fight using Shia religious networks.”

He told Samaa Digital that the recruitment is often done through local clerics and other leaders. “Then individuals travel to Iran (often to Tehran or Qom), ostensibly for pilgrimage or for religious education and are then sent to training camps.” Liwa Zainebiyoun has been deployed throughout Syria, particularly in the north and east of the country, he added.

It seems that the authorities in Pakistan had picked up on this early on. In August, 2014, the National Counter Terrorism Authority wrote a letter to all the provincial home secretaries and law enforcement agencies, warning them that, “Iraqi and Iranian missions in Pakistan are actively attracting Shia students desirous of studying in their countries.” The confidential letter said that Shia students were being brainwashed and motivated against other sects and Pakistani government officials over the killings of Shias in Pakistan.

According to Aamir Rana, a security analyst and the director of the Pakistan Institute of Peace Studies, scores of Pakistani Shias have been to Syria. “Many were arrested from Punjab and Parachinaar after they returned to Pakistan,” Rana said.

The clerics, however, declined to confirm that there were any links between the community and Liwa Zainebiyoun. Hasan Raza Sohail said, however, that members of the Shia community haven’t broken any laws in Pakistan even if they had hypothetically gone to Syria to fight. “We will proudly own them If they go to Syria,” Sohail said, adding that for them it was a religious obligation to protect the holy sites such as the resting place of Bibi Zainab (AS).

Loyalty to Iran is a factor for some Shia clerics in Pakistan, argues Lt Gen (retired) Amjad Shoaib, a defense analyst. “Many of them were educated in Qom and they still get Wazifa from Iran,” he told Samaa Digital. “When we sign any agreement with Saudi Arabia, people here object that Iran would be offended,” the former army official said, pointing to the delicate balances of geopolitics.

It certainly doesn’t help that the Shias have faced countless attacks in Pakistan, he said. “The Hazaras were targeted because they could be recognized [easily].” Iran believes that the Shia community in Pakistan is oppressed and they train their people, he added. Iran has faced terrorism in the past and has suspected Pakistan was behind it.

“They recruited Pakistani Shias when Daesh came to Syria,” he said. “Many people from Parachinar were recruited, trained and sent to Syria.”

He believes that both those who joined Daesh and Zainebiyoun were equally dangerous. “A brainwashed individual is dangerous regardless of his sect,” he said. “No matter what their sect is, they commit acts of terrorism.”

And so the desperate torsion of interlocking local and regional politics continues to exert its pressures on the lives of people. The State grapples with the threat of terrorism, its law-enforcement machinery working overtime. The Shia community in Pakistan continues to find itself at the centre of a widening regional battle. But if the dharna is anything to go by this time, at least some effect was to be had.

That's how pakistan works lol. Create a problem or let a problem created by someone else to grow and then deal with the consequences later at full blast. Our leaders are not very competent.
