Title: Did imams chase imamate
Post by: Shia not Rafidi on June 25, 2020, 06:46:56 AM
I'm looking for a thorough reading about how shia imams (notably Zayd, Jafar Sadiq, Ismail, Musa may Allah have mercy upon them) understood imamat and whether they're aware of the people considering them to be divinely appointed..and if Imamat was more like a political mumbo jumho im their sight for which they led uprisings against each other..
any book (English or urdu) about the evolutionary history of imamah would be useful

These may not be fully relevant to what you are looking for but they are good articles about the crisis of Imamah:

According to Twelver Shia sources their 12 Imams were the most Taqqiyah-loving Imams ever among all Shia sects, at times even denying their Imamate and beliefs even from their closest followers. In one narration in al-Kafi Jafar Sadiq even denied he was an Imam whose obedience is obligatory when he was asked by two Zaydi Shias about his Imamah (Al-Kulayni 1/138  / Al-Kashshi p. 305).

Narration is Majhool? I think you mean some of the narrators are majhool? What does Majlisi say exactly about the report?
