Repenting Anguish

Dark are the pathways leading away from You
Cursed are the pitfalls that land people far away from You

You who is the asylum of the sinners seeking forgiveness
You who is the intimate of the lonely strangers
You who is the peace in my hardship
You who is the light in my darkness
You Do I turn to
You do I seek assistance from
In the darkest of hours
In the moments of peril

I've turned your blessings into curses
So much wisdom yet reckless actions
Having landed me in a far away pit
My heart is dark through and through
So who will save me but You

If I lose you
What will remain
And let's say I gain all else
But You
What is it worth?
The Manifest
The Light
The Proof
Who has you, what do they lack
And who lacks you, what do they have

O best reward
O granter of security
Ease my fear
And banish me not

It's You
It's You
That reminded me of the way
It's You
It's You
It's You who I disobeyed
It's You who I was shameless to
It's You who I was bold against
Taking advantage of what I know of your Forbearance
Till the reliance on your compassion
Caused me to perish

It's me
It's me
That didn't accept your help
Turned your blessings to curses

And so if I die lost and away from You
And my deeds have not yet brought me close to you
I make this confession the means towards your proximity

Never again
My promise
If you help me keep my promise
I will do my part
And never again will I purposely disobey You

You who is the cause of my happiness
It's my insolence towards you that is the cause of my sorrow

I live for one thing only
To prove I love you
Who is my goal in life
Forgive me
By the name of God, the (universally) Compassionate, The (extremely) Compassionate; for the unity of the Togetherness; Is their unity in the travels in the winter and summer. So let them Worship the Lord of this household. The one who fed them from hunger and gave them security from fear.

Beautiful poem! You talk for me, and probably many other people, there also!
